If you (or your child) has cerebral palsy, a genetic disorder or brain injury and have spasticity in the arm/hand, follow along with the gentle movements and let me know below what differences you notice.
(Hint: if you're a parent, try the movement and then watch at 7:57 to understand how it applies to your child)
Slow, gentle movements are HOW our brains learn new movements - brains do NOT learn through painful stretching.
Hi! I'm Jen, an Anat Baniel Method® Practitioner, and I teach exercises as gentle and respectful as your parenting style, to help your child with developmental delays reach their next milestone.
❤️ Want to learn the basic movements, from the comfort of you own home?

Yes! You can support him to explore the movement. But the real secret is to support what he's doing FIRST and then adding in variation. So how is his brain organizing his hand/arm? Support the direction of the tightness with soft, gentle hands and then add in slow, tiny, tiny variations. You can find more examples and variations here: Reduce spasticity in the hand: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KuJKnpb1I9o.htmlsi=YmY8T_GlxVvsWLuE Reduce Spasticity in the Arm: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KxKiDXZJ9c0.htmlsi=y9xrqFYma-8AuPkB Let me know how it goes! And MORE guided videos with easy, short exercises are coming! So stay tuned and subscribe to be notified when they are posted.
