Thank you. Showing examples slow enough to process everything you’re doing is incredibly helpful. I’ve certainly heard the concepts before, and seen a few RU-vidrs show going through their tasks to do this… but they’re usually going through it as fast as they can to show it can be done quickly… and sure, it can, if you’re used to doing so already, but when you’re already struggling, watching someone talk their way through each one is far more helpful. You have to get good at doing it before your process of doing so can speed up to match those that have the process down pat.

Carl! I love your videos. This one was hard to watch because of a constant clicking in the audio. It was just audible enough that I could hear it and it was very distracting. Thank you for making this wonderful content!

I watch a lot of your videos and they are truly great. But it really comes down to execution. I have planned for years but not always been great at execution. In which case planning becomes a waste of time. Not criticizing you, just airing frustration on my own short coming
@Carl_Pullein
@Carl_Pullein 2 года назад
Hi Leif, it sounds like you have step one done. The second step, often the hardest, is to stick to the plan. To do that, make sure you build plenty of flexibility around your plan.

I am watching this video only now and one thing wasn't clear to me. After rewriting your tasks, you put a date of completion on the tasks manager itself or on the calendar?

There's two more types of items that find their way into my todoist inbox frequently: Things that would be a project ("Declutter garage"), and things that are ideas where it's not clear yet what the action is. I know you deal with ideas and projects in your notes app, but I haven't ever seen you show at what point you create and process those notes. Do you do that during your inbox processing, the "golden 10"?
@Carl_Pullein
@Carl_Pullein 2 года назад
Hi Clemens, anything that gets collected in my notes app is never urgent and so I process that once or twice a week. Most of the ideas I have in there are stored in a resources folder for ideas. This gives me a place to go if I ever run out of ideas. If I have a project idea that I want to begin sooner, then I will develop it in my notes, and create the appropriate tasks in Todoist.
@simong3460
@simong3460 2 года назад
Carl as someone who has grown up with GTD a number of items were changed Projects in the sense of needing more than one action. I know that you like to keep your projects on Evernote. At what stage do you create the Project?
@Carl_Pullein
@Carl_Pullein 2 года назад
These days it's rare for me to be creating unplanned projects. I plan out my projects for the year and they will all have a note or notebook assigned to them. In my task manager, I will add a task that tells me one of three things: start working on the project, continue working on the project or complete the project.

@Carl_Pullein
@Carl_Pullein 2 года назад
Yes, in a way. With the RPM method, you start what you want. In my method, knowing what your areas of focus are (similar the RPM's Categories of Improvement) is your starting point.

As with all computers, it depends on what your needs are. My current Mac handles 4k video rendering fine. If I move to 8k is likely to become a consideration.
