Awesome! You read my mind when I couldn't because it's cluttered like my home. Awesome timing in my life, I've been feeling so "overwhelmed": I escaped into food and other comforting stuff, was I appreciate your direct approach to confronting me with reality it's what I'm doing. I've started and tried a number of apps, but now I see it's not about the app. THANK YOU!🌞 I'm a senior citizen, retired, and have some physical and cognitive challenges after a traumatic brain injury. Great progress I've made and Now I want to take back my life.
Spot on. One of my faults over the years was to use an app, then decide a different shiny new app would be better, then repeat that process ... until I had information here there and everywhere and I'd spend far too long trying to remember where I'd stored a file I desperately wanted. I've stuck with Evernote as I know I can capture documents (e.g. scan them in) so easily and Todoist has the integration with Evernote I like. Right now my photos are a complete dog's breakfast and I'm busy sorting them out.
Carl can you please do a video for a 'Normal' user, to develop a productivity system. You have so many individual videos on various topics (which may be good for advanced users), but how can we integrate these apps in our lifestyle. For Example, a 'Normal' or 'Newbie' user would need to do 3 basic things.. time management (your last Todoist video is great for that), maintain an idea board (which crosses our minds whole day & have not yet evolved into tasks) and lastly, for routine tasks like maintaining a grocery list etc. A 'few' people may in addition require to keep few notes as well. Thanks 🙏
I think a better approach would be t take my free COD course. That will give you the basics and explain where you want to be starting. carl-pullein.thinkific.com/courses/beginners-guide-to-building-your-own-productivity-system
It doesn't work for me. Some tasks will take less than 25 mins. Other take longer. It all depends on my energy levels (and whether I need to go play ball with my dog for 1o mins--that just happened)
I normally like Carl’s videos, but I’m not sure what is the point of this video,,,other than to say, “don’t blame the app for your lack of management.”
Hi Mark, my main point is to stop dumping everything into your system. A lot of what we collect is meaningless; while we might not be aware of this when we place something into our inbox, we need to be vigilant when we process so only meaningful stuff that we will act on gets into your system.
Carl you could also be interested in Lightroom alternative - Capture One. I'm using it myself and recommended it to my friends who are doing photography - and they are all so excited with this software. A little new thing to explore :) They also have great tutorials and masterclasses on their website.
