@@mandypdx i understand CC debt is one of the reasons people are deep in debt. So i get it why Dave won't recommend it. I also heard people abandoning the program just because they do not agree with the cc part. Great you earn 20$ and i assume you settle the bill on time every time. But i cannot vouch that others will have your discipline.

We finally got our stupid butts out of debt, it's been 7 weeks debt free and we are putting 15% of our income into our 401s and are putting $4K/month in our savings, will be BS7 in 6 weeks. 5 years ago were paycheck to paycheck.

I did the no spend challenge 2 months and saved a lil over 4k I started making coffee from home and bringing cooked meals from home to take to work I actually went out to breakfast with a friend today for such a job well done

I bought a car band new in 2018... Learned my lesson never new again... I have 6k left on it, so I'm almost done... The thing that is killing me, is I'm paying over 300 on car insurance!!!! I need to change this ASAP!!!! Also, my cell phone bill is 90/month... That's a lot... I'm going to switch over to Mint mobile and try thier 30/month plan... Wish me luck guys!!! These are the small changes I can do soon, hopefully get me more money to save!!!!

I Love Dave and listen to him often and he most certainly played a huge roll in my financial success. Being an "Everyday Millionaire" it did open my eyes to the fact that 99% of those calling in are not. You have to listen to Dave for a long time to get that one caller who says I have $3 Million in the bank and I'm afraid to spend any money to have Dave say, TIME TO START!! So yes, it would be fun to hear him talking to those who have made it through....

Finished Baby Step 2 after the holidays. Baby step 3 part a done, saving for 4.5 to 6 months of living expenses. Fighting like wild to get retirement savings up to 15% and still budget for home repairs. Thank you for making the fight more enjoyable Dave & Co.

Laura in HI... Hawaii isn't the only state in the union that has services for special needs children. In fact, EVERY state has services. That can be your learn something new today.

Yes!!! I have a special needs son who gets services here in Florida! By law, they are available in every state. Granted some states are better than other. So, she needs to get in mom groups on FB and start finding out the top 5-10 states for services/support. Do your homework and blend that with a better cost of living and make your move! I wish Ken would've been on this call and dug more into the go back to school comment. There are plenty of times that that doesn't ROI. Also, he would have ask if there was a certification option.

I also guarantee you can find treatment for your special child in the continental U.S. - you'll just have to leave your expensive tropical paradise. Oh, and one more thing - STOP HAVING KIDS EVERY 10 MONTHS! Was this call real?

You have to give it back. She's addressed this before. You can't keep scholarship money that wasn't used for tuition, boarding/meals and school supplies. Technically you can use it for clothes and stuff as well as long ad you can make a case they are used for school. Maybe you can even swindle a car if your off campus? Not sure about that but I know for sure anything that's left over they take back. You can't keep it

Dont let your kids run your life. Show them who’s the boss! Im a preschool teacher and I taught my 4-year old students to save money that they get from relatives. All of them managed to buy their favorite toys at the end of the year. It’s important to talk to kids about the value of saving :)

Wait, $90K with a family of six and no debt... sounds good until you realize that the government takes $30,000 a year off the top out of your paycheck and now you bring in $60K. And with all those kids there are glasses, braces, books for school, clothes... Dave is living in a fantasy world if he thinks they have a lot of left over money to buy a car fast. Plus trying to save for retirement? There's no way. Kids are expensive.

you are still going to have your variable spending let's say you budget for meals out, hanging out with friends, getting hair and nails done, shopping. When you do no spend you are not spending money with friends, getting your hair or nails going out for lunches meals out. No Starbucks, etc. All meals come from home.

Did you miss the part where they have soon to be 4 kids under age 4? If she goes back to work can they afford to pay a nanny to watch the babies? Trust me there is no job she could work that would be harder than taking care of 4 kids under age four 24/7… basically her life is going to be exhausting for several years until she gets a couple of those kids off to school.

@@djchristiani, understood, but not all accounts accrue compound interest. In the example they use value would be around $625k. So, that then begs the question what accounts are they looking at that are 12% interest, compounded? That would be gold knowledge. I know some folks who’ve invested $84k over 28 years, market value is $155k. That is $250 per month times 28 years. That additional tidbit of knowledge would be most beneficial, being the most important piece of the equation.

@@t3angling575 my understanding is that they are looking at the lifetime history of the stock market averaging 11.8 percent. I know not every account earns compound interest and I'm certain Dave would simply say don't put investment money in those accounts. He recommends splitting your investments between the following 4 types of mutual funds: growth and income (25%), growth (25%), aggressive growth (25%), and international (25%).

Mine will continue to be invested regardless, the statement made could use more context from the team, to drive the point home with more knowledge, the average investor may not, probably does not have. Tax payers are the foundation of our economy. Tax payers support building roads, infrastructure, military, SSI, and welfare. All these services funnel back into the economy by providing jobs and services. People receiving welfare use the money to buy products and services from the wealthy. The fewer people paying taxes, the weaker the economy will be. Unfortunately the tax rates are too high right now because some people don’t participate. Be blessed everyone during this tax season.
