For those who are interested in booking a car, ask for the estimated waiting time from various dealers. Kelana Jaya dealer told me 8 months for Iriz, but Glenmarie dealer said they have ready stock.
Hi, I just booked a persona premium! I'm wondering if you're gonna install any dash cam in your car? I would love to see how you install a back dash cam if you are planning to do so. I know proton provided the front with a USB port, but how about the back?
Hi there, congratulations on booking the persona MC2 premium! Currently, my car only has a front dashcam. And most likely won't be installing a rear dashcam anytime soon. But if i do, i would definitely like to make a video on it. Eventhough the persona MC2 comes with a USB slot upfront for easier dashcam installation, but i don't use that USB slot to power up my dashcam. Technically, i just use the USB opening to tug in and hide my cable while re-routing it to the fuse box. This is because my dashcam has the Parking Protecting feature which would record even when your engine is fully turned off. If you use the USB slot, the dashcam won't be working all the time because the USB will no longer provide power to the dashcam if the car engine is off. So in my case, I will have to connect it to the fuse box with the provided connection kit. That way my dashcam will always have power. If your dashcam don't have any parking protection / 24 hours protection features, then it's ok to just connect it to the USB port up front. So it will only record when the car is running. And if you want to install a rear dashcam, the rear dashcam's cable will have to connect to your front dashcam, and you will also have to re-route the cable through the side of the car. I am sure a professional dashcam installer will know how to do this. They are used to doing this. So no worries. Hope this bit of advice helps.
@@verorreviewssomething8291 Hi, thanks for the reply, that's very insightful. I'm also wondering if there's a way to access your dash cam via the head unit? As in you can access the videos recorded by your dash cam through the touch screen panel?
@@untafsirable unfortunately it is not possible to view your recorded dashcams video on the persona's screen panel because you'll be installing an aftermarket dashcam and that dashcam is also not connected to the infotainment system. This feature is usually available on cars that come with BUILT-IN dashcams / cameras which you usually get on expensive cars like Mercedes, Tesla and what not. With aftermarket dashcams, the usual way to view your recordings is through your phone or computer, by login into your own account which you have registered via the dashcam's official website.
Yes the chrome / silver plastic frame definitely reflects some sunlight to the eyes. That one nothing much we can do unless we decide to wrap it with sticker or respray it.
If guys know how to watch video on USB, can you tell me? When I play the video, only the sound is played and "Cannot be displayed while driving" is displayed on the screen.
Hi there. Thank you for dropping the comments. Currently, I have not tried playing video on the persona MC2. But I will find out, and probably make content about the QD Link feature.
Really? Oh no that’s really unfortunate! I thought their products were really good i wonder why they stop selling it. I am not sure if they’re other sellers but you can prolly go to the car accessories shop and ask them if they have a matte film that can be use as a screen protector.
@@thebossstudio4518 tf man why so long.. aiyaaa tmrw im going to the proton showroom to book the persona premium.. but if more than 4 months of waiting then i think i will cancel la😅
Thank you for the comment but sorry i won't spend money buying another screen protector coz it's expensive. And it wouldn't make sense to remove a screen protector that's already nicely secured on my infotainment screen. But if you need a tutorial, usually the shop will send you a video on how to apply it especially if you buy from the shopee store that i've suggested.
