I am 58 and still wear my hair long. I have had many full beards over the years but never stopped shaving completely. About a month ago I started to grow out my beard again and, while researching on-line, came across the idea of a "yeard" ( one full year's growth unmolested.) I'm looking forward to the journey as I think the longest I've ever gone was 6 months back in my early 20's. I enjoyed your vid and comments. Peace
It's a sociocultural phenomenon. Men are bombarded by clean shaven stuff every day. Clean shaven successful Hollywood actors, sports men, business men, razor advertising etc
I've never had a clean shave ever! I have trimmed my beard/shaped it up but ever since it started growing in I embraced it and have kept it for over 15years or so now. I had a full on thick goatee at the age of 15 then when my sides started growing in I have kept a full beard. EMBRACE IT AND LET IT GROW PEOPLE!
Ever since I started growing my beard I felt good about myself and that I was doing the right thing. This is my 4th and final time growing one. I'm not shaving it off. Beard on Gents.
"It's a great world out there especially when you have a beard." That is the greatest comment ever I love it😂 I'm trying it sooo itchy right now but I'm trying
As a teen I thought I was becoming a man when I started growing hair that I "got" to shave. I thought I would eventually grow a beard once or if I could grow a "nice" beard. Not shaving my beard at 32 has been, for me, more about self accepance than anything else. I wish I had the strength as a teen to accept myself as I was, and let it be even if others wouldn't accept me for natural patchy beard. It's a reflection of them of what they don't like in themselves.
i honestly feel soo good when my thickens after 4-5 weeks of no shaving , yet get forced to shave for an occasion or job to look “presentable” . Once i sustain a good job and lifestyle i’ll grow it for months and feel good about my looks
I shaved when I joined the army in 2003 and I’ve worn a beard non-stop since 2006. Freshly retired and I have no plan to ever shave my beard again, it’s going to grow like it was intended to
Thanks for the great video. I totally agree with you, God put hair on the human body for a reason. Men stop shaving, just let it grow. If you have patchy spots don't worry it will fill in. Women don't let society tell you that you are not clean, or sexy because you don't shave your body. This video is right on that the razor companies don't give a shit about your appearance, they just want your money. If you want a awesome beard don't shave or trim it. Ladies is it really worth an extra half hour shaving every time you take a shower? Just be natural and enjoy every day we have with family and friends.
I stop shaving stop back in september my beard slowing filling in but having a beard will allow you gain more respect toward people if that true i have no clue
Well shave when young is good for dephs.. My beard is decent at 18 had it 3 years and shaved it many times.. its dark and some what strong now i need is outline and the sides better. But my brother is a "virgin" in the beard stuff and never shaved.. It looks horrible, you can see through it and its just bad. I just wonder when i should stop shaving at when does my beard become perfect for growing long and the mustache when does it become mighty or is it a genetic thing that mine is quite small in size?
I'm 20 my beards a month old. I love it so much I won't shave it again I feel like a man when I have a beard it suits me well also, & it's just who I am it feels right. #BeardCrew
I'm 18 and my chin hair hasn't grown in like a year. most of the hairs are 3/4 an inch long. and haven't grown. should I shave and restart? my hairs around it grow a decent rate and my cheeks grow decently fast but not dense enough to grow it all out. any advice? I think it's wierd it stopped
My father takes regular haircuts and shaves everyday even though he doesn't go out that much. He is retired. But yeah sometimes you don't go out for days and end up with long hair and a beard.
I've never heard a shaved guy say he hates facial hair, or is really glad he doesn't have any. I've also never known of anyone who's performance in the office has been contributed to their smooth faces. I had a beard in basic training with the military. I either got no complaints about having it and even had my master corporal whisper "That's a very nice beard, private" during inspection. I even had a sergeant tell me face to face that the reason I gave for having it, wasn't good enough and said "I know, its a bullshit rule". We are all responsible for how we look in the workplace. We can't show up to work with uncut, bed head just as we can't show up to work with a beard that's straggley and dried out. So what do we do? Simple, we make sure our beards are kept neat and tidy. Women are allowed to wear make up as long as It's not poorly applied, but for some reason men can't have a beard in the office? How that's not discriminatory is beyond me. So if men are mostly indifferent and even wishing they could have beards in the work place, then who exactly are we shaving for? Leave the nagging to shave off a man's beard to their controlling wives, and not up to human resources.
i dont and wont shave my masculine body hair off, and im growing my second beard, and im growing it super long, it is thick , course and grows quick, i will use beard oil, though i never had a dry skin problem thank you for posting
I feel stupid for shaving for 20years since my daughter was born 6months ago I havnt shaved it looks kinda bad but IDK maybe in 2 years I have a nice beard :D
I hate shaving, and it's 20 years that I have a (trimmed) beard. BUT... for me people should be able to do whatever they want to do, growing a beard or not is a personal decision... And I must say that since this hipster shit came around, the obsession is not with shaving, but with growing a beard, how many "love bearded men" can you see here and there ? The worse part being that they spend SO much time to make it look natural. Let people deal with their hair the way they want !
It is a personal option. The bible is clear in instructing us not to tear it out like the heathens practice. Which was for pagan mourning. I guess they sinned when they took a Nazarite vow, guess they had to do….hhhmmm. I like growing mind but don’t mind shaving it either. Yhwh speed.
I’m growing my beard out for the first time at 51 yrs old. My wife who initially didn’t like it is now on board and actually likes it. I’m good with a woman shaving though. Ha!
Beards are ugly uncivilized and unhygenic. When I shaved my beard off it took years off me, I felt much better about myself and I felt wonderfully fresh clean and free.
I agree. I love the clean shaven look myself. Also, I see young men out there with their heads shaved to their scalps. They will never know what it's like to have a nice thick head of hair while they're young only to realize that one day they want to grow their hair but there is none because of male pattern baldness.
The boys out there that have puberty can choose to shave or not it's there chose like there is a chose of liking beards and I don't because it makes mans look like there poor or something it's my opinion don't gurg me please
You don’t need a beard or any facial hair just to be considered a man. Facial hair doesn’t make the man, their mannerisms and they way the treat people. Beards were meant to be shaved for a reason. People need to think about these things.
Beards wasn't meant to be shaved it's the definition of a man it's part of what a man is I don't know who told you this maybe you getting your information from a woman
I get the fact that you come from a place of personal convictions, desires and beliefs. But what you chase after is utopia. People are different and this world of duality. Shaven people do have reasons that might outwit yours. Do you eat a 100% organic food. Because if naturalness plays the main role, one’s better keep it real.
You may not cut your beard but you cut your nails, your hair. Also your entire lifestyle influences the way you grow as a person, the way you look, how you feel etc. You can say this is right or this is wrong, this is better, this is worse... I still didnt hear a solid argument why having a beard is so important. Women seem to do fine without them, as do men without beards... Maybe if you're living like a caveman in a cold region it's a way of keeping yourself warm, im sure it has other uses as well but i didn't understand by watching your video why i should refrain from shaving my beard. All comes down to personal preference, just be yourself, do what YOU wanna do. you wanna tell people to never shave, i wanna be the one to challenge your logic and there may be someone doing the same under this comment. We'll see, anyway nice beard ;-)
There is a difference between a well trimmed, good looking beard and that bird nest of yours. Just because its long and thick doesn't mean it looks good. Beards require time and attention. Just take care of it dude.
Why all the pressure to tell guys how to grow their facial hair? I know plenty who just hate the feeling of facial hair, just like I hate the feeling of having pit hair. Stop proselytizing and go wash that flycatcher
The guy in this video is a self righteous bozo forcing his belief on others, so some men choose not to have a beard? So fucking what? This guy needs to get off his high horse. If every single man on earth had a beard this world would be dull and boring. I have a goatee but thats how I choose to keep it, I dont need a grizzly adams beard.
