@@victorbondoc2311 Why do you say that. IMO, social media (which youtube increasingly is) is not a terrific vehicle to spread awakening. It's very egoic, and fosters egoism. Some channels are worse than others that way. Eckhart's seems in the middle of reasonableness. Is there someone you like better?

I was abandoned as a child by my mother and later spent time in jail in solitary confinement for months(was found not guilty). I noticed after this I began to talk outloud to myself in private constantly. I knew this was not normal but I never could get my mind to stop(it's running now). Your speeches and books have opened my eyes to realize thats not actually me, its my mind and its seperate from the heart/soul and to be still and listen to the soul

"People want more than anything to be seen, and yet they are terrified of being seen because they are afraid of what will be seen. And there is so much we want to hide, and yet we have hidden from ourselves that which is best in us."

Who are you quoting?
@markfuller
@markfuller 2 года назад
@@ami2evil It sounds Jungian to me. Jung's model of "the shadow" and the gold that can be found within it. (Shadow work, and turning it into gold. We tend to bury good things into the shadow, then detest the shadow -- "throwing out the baby with the bathwater"). One of Jung's students put it: _"Curiously, people resist the noble aspects of their shadow more strenuously than they hide the dark sides. To draw the skeleton out of the closet is relatively easy, but to own the gold in the shadow is terrifying. It is more disrupting to find that you have a profound nobility of character than to find out you are a bum."_ -- Robert A. Johnson, Owning Your Own Shadow Jung apparently had an awakening experience back around 1920, and kept it hidden for fear of being judged a "mystic." A "Red Book" was recently published which documented his experience almost 50 years after his death (and 100 years from when he had the experience). It's very interesting. There are videos on youtube that discuss/quote it. I used to think Jung was faking it with symbolism compared to Freud and his more cranial model. But, I think Jung was a level deeper in a way I can understand now. He was into a lot of stuff like "synchronicity" and the "collective unconcious" (which could be a synonum for "collective consciousness" which is a more new-age term, and essentially the same thing depending on how you look at it: glass half-full? half-empty?

@@tzestoasa4665 Sometimes that sense of self or "affect" of self is a way of getting attention. Conspicuous by absence. The ego really does work that way. You'd think introversion and reclusiveness would be anti-ego. But, if it's excessive, then it's ego. "Chase me" allure. I don't think everyone wanting to be left in peace are imbalanced that way. But, I bet we don't find that many of them on social media (which youtube is, advocating their seemingly self-defeating ambition.). (wink). I think it's interesting (or humbling) that we can never know. The most benign or self-less views of one self can be egoic. It's humbling to know we never can be too sure.

Watch and listen to Eckhart while observing yourself, while observing the thoughts arising in you, while listening to everything around you, while feeling the body and observing the breath. That's real meditation. Emptiness is not separated from Consciousness. They are like the Yin (Emptiness, Eternal Subject, Femininity) and Yang (Objective World, Masculinity). And they are one. It sounds very hard and complicated to the mind but that's what Consciousness really is. Don't try to practice what I've said. Just let go of any practice. Any practice is of the mind. Just Be. Listening completely to this man will give you the glimpse of eternity. Enjoy❤️

I like the part about awareness being like a light. I realised that when a thought floats into awareness the light of awareness hits the thought and the reflection of the thought bounces back and we mistake the thought as being part of us but we are just the light shining out. It has helped me when meditating to focus on the light of awareness shining out into infinity.

Just a week ago i had the worst “ego attack”, and it still last today. What happened is that my mind became so full of thinking, that I can’t think with great intelligence. As you can imagine all my body functions are not working as well as it should. I feel disoriented and unable to concentrate. My thoughts all start with “i should be feeling in peace”; “im trying to be enlightened, i should be in peace”; “why can’t i awaken”, etc But i still know that i can make it, cuz at the beginning of my anxiety (>1 year ago) i felt like this and i advanced and i know when im doing things right, but now i don’t know how. Im so lost and anxious… Ps: just a few hours later i somehow gave up and got that inner peace. It’s so simple

"Your essence identity reveals itself as a peace in the background". Thank you Eckhart for your generosity and kindness. My father was a dry land wheat and sheep farmer that struggled with drought and poor soil. His lifes toil demanded he be present in doing. His work gave me the privilege of having space to experience life free of needing to do. I have used the space unwisely, focusing endlessly on form. Dad was also lost at times in form but he was able to be present fully too. We can be witnesses to our form selves. Today this will be my practice. I hope to see my essence self revealed. Sunday

What Upanishads say thousands of years ago, Aham bramhasmi/tattvamasi/pragnanam bramha/ayamatma bramha, Ekhart tolle ji is verbalising them at its best. It can't be thought of, spoken of, not even experienced, it can only be pointed out at. It's the subject, the self. It's the Atman/Brahman .Advaitha vedanta being explained . It's not Buddha but the seers/rishis of Upanishads who tried to explain Atman. Shankaracharya explains in Viveka choodamani about Atman what Ekhart ji calling Essence. Ramana Maharshi says to investigate Who am I. All pointing out to the same. Swami Sarvapriyananda ji , of Ramakrishna Math, Newyork, there are various lectures, talks on Advaita Vedanta.

As Nickie suggested, some people have a "self-talk" that is a distraction *for a reason*. It can be hard enough for a "normal" person to realize the difference between "me in the moment" and "me thinking in the moment." It's even harder for those who confabulate in the moment for more _existential_ reasons (subconscious dis-integration of memories/experiences). For the average person, the self-talking mind is just pleasing (like m*bation). But, for some, it's a distraction (a compulsion to avoid dis-integrated experiences). That's doubly hard to reconcile to because it's not just pleasing, but "I need it! I've got nothing else!"). It takes more patience and insight to realize the past has been carried around for a reason (the alternative couldn't be faced: whatever is buried/distracted from). It's a dichotomy. It's not that maladaptively existing in such way was "wrong" or "bad." It's normal psychology to disassociate this way (and confabulate an aspirational self). But, when you realize "this is how it is. The only thing real is this moment. Everything else is a story I'm telling myself about who I am, will be, could be, would be, should be, was, wasn't... and so it goes)" then you're integrating how you know you existed imperfectly in the past with how you understand things (imperfectly) now. It just "is." There's nothing to feel sick or sad about. It just is. Feeling sick or sad adds nothing to the now unless you're still expecting the now to be something it isn't (which gets back to *bation. Is it because it's pleasurable? Or, you _need_ it to be something more than it is?).

IMO, the first thing would be to get a physical examination from a medical doctor. Rule out physical causes. Then, why you think it has something to do with the mind/presence/etc. Have you been practicing it, and these symptoms arose? Or, you're just looking for a mind-explanation for the symptoms (which would point back to seeking a physical explanation first).

@@markfuller Thaks alot for the reply. I am myself a doctor and I have asked other doctors for these symptoms and physically everything was fine. @@azhihamakhan8795 I'm not a medical/health professional, but have practiced mindfulness since late 2012 (a long journey of self-discovery of the practice, my own way. Didn't learn of Eckhart until maybe 2017 and had a epiphany "this guy knows what I know!" That was strange to me not just that someone was explaining what I had experienced myself, but I would have *never* experienced it myself if I'd started with Eckhart, or Mooji, et al. I would have overanalyzed the teaching, tried to figure it out first, "be that guy, one of them." It would have been an identity to become. So, I was fortunate to arrive the way I did, without anyone showing me the way.). I don't know why I explained my lay position/experience. Other than to emphasize that the mind really can play bizarre games. The subconcious 95% of the mind emerges the 5% conscious to us. B. Libet & (Dr. David Vago) has proven conclusively that our choices/decisions are made 200ms to 500ms _before_ our conscious mind says "I chose this." That doesn't sound like a lot, but it's enough to know that we don't consciously choose things the way we think we do. There is a "ghost in the machine." This pyschological perspective of awareness/presence/awakening/consciousness/enlightenment (it's all the same, IMO. People try to parse these things into exacting defiitions that subtly differ. But, I think that's ego too) seems very rooted in psychology, the way the mind works. (I think Carl Jung's model of psychology fits awakening better than others. And, in fact, Jung had a profound awakening experience himself. He was afraid to publish his experience for fear of being labeled a "mystic." It wasn't until a few years ago, almost 50 years after his death & over 100 years after the experience that his estate published "the red book" which there are videos discussing. It sheds light on how he arrived at his model of psychology.). Anyway, what I'm trying to get to is: if there's no medical reasons for the physical sensations, then I think that they started while practicing yoga would be a meaningful point. I would probably speak to a psychologist/psychiatrist about your mind. If there's any history trauma which might be arising subconciously this way. Or, maladaptive thought patterns you've had and never noticed. This evaluatio would just be "insight." It would only take 3-4 visits to get a level set (if you're open/honest, seeking insight without judgement). I would look for a psychologist who practices mindfulness (is aware of the topic, isn't against it. Probably a Jungian.).

@@azhihamakhan8795 My reply was getting a little long. I wanted to add that my own awakening experience was mostly psychological, encountering my own "shadow" and facing "dis-integrated" trauma I've carried for life (and affected me in ways I was in denial about). It was a very personal experience, not following someone's explanation of what it is, how to get there. I had a very strong egoic defense against probing too deeply, exposing what I had buried or maladaptively learned to live with as a pattern of subconcious behaviors. The mind is absolutely remarkable in it's ability to make you think you're in charge, you've got everything under control, etc. You surely know that psychosomaticism is a real thing. People really believe they feel a pain, or symptoms of a disease. It's all in the head. It's real. It's not just physical pain. it can be voices (I heard voices for about 3 months during my early awakening process. I was very destabilized back in 2013-14.). To me, the process was "individuating" myself in the moment from myself thinking/narrating/self-talking/confabulating in the moment. When you do the latter compulsively without realizing it, as a default way of existing (and your thoughts are "who I am"), that can be very destabilizing to realize it's not that way. There is a you who exists without an explaining/labeling mind. If the mind labels/explains for a reason (like to keep dis-integrated trauma in the subconcious, to protect you from what's in the shadow), then it's even harder (than a more "normal" person). So, I would be thinking that you've got some "there" there, and practicing Yoga exposed you to it (opened a can of worms ever so slightly) and you have more self-inquiry to do. More individuation to experience. But, if the buried/habituated stuff is more than just mildly neurotic, then that could lead to a difficult experience. It could be good to have professional guidance.

@@azhihamakhan8795 If you click my username and view my "playlists" (there's only one), that has the very secular (not spiritual or new-age) mindfulness I followed in 2014 after a year of my own way of trying to remain aware of my mind's attention (how it turns into "a story"). If you "view full playlist" I wrote a description of how the first 3 videos lead to a progression (I wrote it as if I could communicate to myself 10 years ago, what might have made sense to me then). For me, just "individuating" my "self in the moment" from the more unseen/autopilot "self thinking in the moment" was key to everything. It went bad pretty quickly into practicing the 1st video. The 2nd video helped with that (the "view full playlist" description explains how to apply that 2nd video if disturbance occurs after doing the 1st). That might give more insight into my own thoughts on this topic. I am 100% convinced that our minds are much more powerful than we realize, and will manifest things in ways that don't seem like "mind" (will seem physical). I was very disoriented for a year or two when I began to individuate. I woke a couple times thinking the entire bedroom was turned around, and upside down (my fingers dug into the mattress thinking I would fall out of the bed). Lots of very powerful, physical sensations that were due to my subconscious mind not liking that I was divorcing myself from my self-talk/narration (the constant distraction from the present moment). I have to also say that I feel cannabis was instrumental in much of the early insight I had (into how my mind worked, and how things weren't what I thought they were; the whole confabulated sense of who I am, how I exist). That was very destabilizing while under the influence. And, provided insight for the rest of the time I wasn't under the influence. It added to what I realized I was experiencing in mindfulness practice, and how the conscious mind followed what emerges from the subconscious (without questioning it, as if it's real). Cannabis & mindfulness (on the present moment) were both equally instrumental to getting above my thoughts, individuating myself that way (the thinker and the observer or "agent self" as it's called in psychology). That could be worth exposing yourself to for more insight. There are different strains. Some are less psychoactive, might cause less panic if your reaction is like mine was (I was absolutely overwhelmed. My subconscious panicked that I was peering into what it had worked so hard to bury, or protect me from.).
