This week, I speak about chronic burnout and the path back to our art. It is easy for an artist to get caught up in the web of the ego and lose sight of why they make art to begin with. I have found that by getting in touch with memories of when we first began, writing songs, painting, playing music we can often find the true spirit that initiated our pursuit of art. By leaning into the conditions that first released this spirit we can repair our relationship with creating. It is all about letting go. As the trees let go of the leaves in this season I encourage you to follow their ancient example and let go of what is no longer serving you. When you do, you might begin to uncover memories that lead you back to a more pure artistic intention. Follow these memories! Restore your relationship! Create for the sake of it! Let Go!
