Stop trying breathe life into things that are dead.
Stop trying to resuscitate or prop up something that God wants to remove from your life.
Just because we serve a God who can resurrect the dead, doesn’t mean some things shouldn’t die.
It might have been good or even sent by God for a season - but once He says it’s over - move on.
In this long in-between season of delay and weariness, there is a temptation to go back to things that we had left behind.
We are longing for identity, security, connection, the enjoyment of what we once had.
But there is nothing there for us.
Don’t look back.
Leave dead things behind.
Embrace the tension of the in-between.
Don’t try to force or too quickly define the ‘new’.
Allow it to develop, emerge, and come forth in God’s timing.
Matthew 8:22
But Jesus told him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”
Luke 17:32-33
Remember Lot’s wife! Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it.
Isaiah 43:19
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
