Same droughty conditions here in NW Indiana. Been doing the sprinklers in the morning on dry days. Totally forget about the hydratain maybe that can assist coming through these summer months. Cool last name.
You can apply anytime, but I would shoot for the time of the year you are dry and not getting alot of rain. I wouldn't apply if ground is frozen and temps are low
I’ve used the Yard Mastery soil test kit for the last 2 seasons. It’s very helpful in getting you the numbers you need to make decisions about your lawn care.
@@natewalls4850 I have used it too. Then I did another, and the numbers don't match. But, they always say try your local extension office, so that is what I will try next.
Great advice Shane ! Last year I couldn’t understand why I was struggling to get the results from the products I was putting down. Did a soil test and found out my ph was at 3.5. Raised it up to 6.5 (after 420lbs of lime). Made all the difference in the world !
@@ShaneHeath Got it. How long to get your results? I have the same kit. Have just never used it. I have constant thatch and fungus issues. Think it's time for a soil test lol.
Yeah here in South Texas my Bermuda yard is looking good , about 8 inches of rain in a month or less. We just need the heat and sunshine to really push it. I know in July and August here it's going to be struggling though. Also a soil kit is a must have Imo to get your yard to that next level.
@@ShaneHeath I'm sure our luck is running out soon lol, last year once July 5th hit it was 100+ for 3 weeks straight and no rain..... Bermuda Yard went from amazing to Meh even with decent irrigation.
Great video! As always a ton of helpful info in a short amount of time. My soil is very compacted also. Been putting down humic12 at 9oz/1000 monthly and seeing great results thus far.
