Came back to say thank you! I bought a 13-year-old Honda CR-V a few months ago. All four doors, annoyingly, wouldn't stay open if parked on any sort of incline. The rear left speaker also didn't work when I bought it, but that hasn't been annoying enough to get into the door. I got whacked in the head the other day though as I was bent over and pulling stuff out of the back seat. That inspired me to do a little homework and I came across your video here. In a little over an hour I had both rear door checkers working, and with a little more time discovered that the speaker terminals were just a bit corroded. Both problems fixed for $0.00... fantastic hack, and great video!
Awesome!! Thank you so much for watching and sharing, we truly appreciate it! Glad to have you here with us my friend. Keep up the great work! Have a fantastic day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
After my door closing on my leg for a year, I found your video and fixed it today. I have an older car and was struggling to find a replacement stopper, so your idea to reposition the rubber piece was perfect. Thank you!!!
Thanks for the tip and the inspiration! My driver's door is now much better after inserting a couple of 3D-printed shims to make up for the worn nylon sliders - looked very similar design to the one you show here.
Yeah, this is a huge problem for me... All my dates keep escaping before our party really gets rolling. Thanks for the solution for this embarrassing problem. You guys rock!!! 😂😂😂😂
Thank you very much! One of our employees, Hoolio Cesar Chavez, came up with this idea, so you are right on with that :) Have a great day Jorge! mad Mike the hammer SPC
Worked fantastic , except you can’t flip a Subaru. I just added a piece of sheet metal shim stock behind it. Might of taken me 1/2 hour for whole job. Thanks
Glad we could help Paul! Thank you for watching and sharing your fantastic results with everyone, hope you have a great rest of your week my friend. mad Mike
I don't know if I am the only one but you keep saying "it" is "it" called a Rubber module if not what is the that rubber square called? Do you have a part number that I missed or other name that I missed? Can you provided a link for the rubber square that you installed for the door check to not close? I hope this is not a dumb question. Thank you!
the rubber module is in the door detent already you just flip it around as per the video if the rubber is missing or damaged you will need a new detent.
@@SweetProjectCars WOW! Talk about a fast response time! Also thank you for clarifying. That does make more sense and it was a great and informative video.

Just did this on a mazda 6. Stopper is pretty much identical. In my case i put 2 washers at the top of the top rubber cube. May need to file down the white plastic however to make it more solid. It stays when its wide open, but I feel as with some stronger wind itll shut again. No idea if I can make it sit in a middle position
Thank you. Just repaired this part in a Nissan 350z. The concept is very similar and solved the problem by shiming with two coins between the case and rubber part. It worked great. Again thank you for your video!
Good sir, I have been looking for a video where you treated windshield washer fluid, I cannot find that video. You surely know what I'm talking about so can you please link me that. Thank you
Yes. thats exactly it. thank you. also i might have to consider your wheel cleaning concoction, since I just found out Meguiars Wheel Brightener doesn't sell in Canada :(
My 2006 Escape doors are swinging like they're unhinged, this is what I've been looking for! Much needed information. Thank you. I was going to throw you a couple of kisses but being a man I'll get my girlfriend to do it for me:)
Hey my friend another awesome video, was looking forward to watch this, can I ask you what if the door does not lock all the way without you pushing it? What do you do?
@@SweetProjectCarshers didn't have the big rubber piece in it. It had about a third of that on the top and bottom of the mechanism so I jammed about 6 washers in it, greased and sealed😁🤷🏽♂️ it works 😁👍🏼 thanks again

This woukdnt fix my problem bcuz the plastic housing (black part u greased &said not to touch or eveything woukd fall out) (what u melted thru in "temporary" fix) is broken/snapped in half
Exact subie holdopener that I fixed I used a shim 1/16 thick, instead of the flip. I like how you dont wastime tellin a story about say---- your cousin"s GF came over the shop in a slinky little sun dress, all sweaty, you could see right through the damn thing and she kept trying to get you to spray her with some cool water and use the EXTRACTOR on her, ya know bla bla bla like a lotta these folks

Do you have any idea how much time these things last for.? In my Honda its totally gone just in 46K KMS, whereas in my VW that thing still works even after 70k kms.
It depends on many factors like usage and quality of original parts. Thank you for watching and sharing. Have a great day Anirudh. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Excellent! Glad we could help save your shins Phyoomz! LOL, hope you have a great weekend, thanks for the view and sharing your results my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Great video, i have a problem. Today the mechanics at the Toyota dealership added Grease to the metal hinge because I was complaining that my door made a tapping sound when it's fully open so I guess they thought this would be a solution but it still made the sound apparently all the car models that I have make the same sound when opening they couldn't figure that out first so now my doors open completely out before they used to have a nice stop at every angle this car only has 10,000 miles and the stops were great because if you're on a hill they open up to a certain degree if you're down a hill they open up to the certain degree prevents you from hitting fire hydrants trees etc and now they just have grease and they open way too lightly and too fast so how can I counteract this issue I could take it back to the dealer but I'm trying to avoid them taking the whole door apart just to get into that hinge and clean it out is there another way to do so can I buy like a degreaser or something but I don't want to damage any components inside the hinge if this is really something for the mechanics it just tear apart and clean inside out then I guess I have to resort to that but before I even do that I want to see if I could maybe try another alternative because I know once they start opening things up if they put in reassemble the door again I feel like something is going to be rattly or loose I've been through this before with my windows rattling and the doors just never the same I don't want to violate the assembly yet please suggest any tips I am looking to remove the grease off the metal hinge or the door jamb hinge whatever is called forget my ignorance please help thank you anyone
