The gear in that storage locker appears to have belonged to Joey Trujillo, a session guitarist from Pheonix, AZ. From very brief research, I discovered that his genre seems to have been jazz funk, that he played on an album by Linda Herre "Now & Then" (1976), Pages "Future Street" album (1979), a single called "Movin' Out Back" by Diana Lee (1992), and the Dave Cook and Intensity album "Groovin' In The Desert" (1999), as well as touring with Sister Sledge in the late Nineties. He died on May 13, 2021 from cancer aged 69.

Blackface started in '63 or '64. That's why the first Blackface Bassman's had circuit designation of AA864. However, there was also a transitional Blackface phase where the amps had the black face panel, but used the Brownface circuits to use up the remaining inventory of Brownface parts. These were called the "Tuxedo" amps. Mojotone can make a replacement speaker baffle and back panel for the Twin Reverb. They actually make "Fender Licensed" replacement cabinets, and the Blackface Twin Reverb is one of them. With measurements, they can probably make a new back panel for the Vox Cambridge too.

blackface Twin Reverb was made between 1963 and 1967. The silverface came out in late 67. Just FYI never power on a tube amplifier without the proper speaker load connected. probably the main thing that destroys tube amps is people turn them on by mistake with no speaker connected. also those old tube amps without ground connection can shock you or worse. i always turn them on the first time with a stick and dont touch the chassis until i can measure the chassis to ground to see if there is high voltage floating on the ungrounded chassis.

At 4:30, that's probably a Teisco guitar. The gold foil pickups tend to be somewhat microphonic but are highly desirable to slide guitar players. Ry Cooder, or David Lindley if he was still among the living, would be into that guitar for sure (Ry used one of those pickups for the neck position of his infamous CooderCaster, and an Oahu lap steel pickup for the bridge position).

Manuel Rodrigues and Sons was the maker of the beautiful acoustic guitar. Thanks for showing. During the winter of 2013, I spent a month helping a sound systems business from Spokane with the renovation of the sound system in a 1905 church building that I was warned (by the sound engineer) had the original electrical (knob and tube) system in the attic, "It's still hot so be careful up there." The biggest improvement to the sound system was adding a ground to the electrical circuits in the space, which removed the constant 60 cycle hum that impacted the sound. I was thankful that the new TVs were not installed before addition of that ground leg. Replacing or adding a three-wire plug to the amplifiers is a good thing.

Awesome find. That blackface Twin Reverb is killer. You could always plug it into an external speaker cab to try it out. What's odd is the drip edge front panel grille. The "drip edge" was a very limited feature that was only on the earliest silverface amps in 1968 (blackface went from sometime in mid to late '64 through the end of '67/first weeks of '68 as they transitioned to silverface and used up all their parts). So either that grille is from a silverface Twin _or_ it's an *exceedingly* rare, late 1967/VERY early '68 blackface that had a drip edge front panel grille. I tend to doubt it just because I've _never_ seen such a thing but it is of course possible. Especially with 60's Fender stuff that went through _so_ many aesthetic changes so there are always transitional oddballs that will have features from multiple era's. Like the early "blackface" Bassman amps you see sometimes that still had the brown panel era chassis, "cupcake" knobs and with the brown panel era circuit with the "presence" control. As well as the ones that had the newer blackface era chassis and circuit with no "presence" control but still had the brown panel era "cupcake" style knobs. You could also consider putting the Twin Reverb into a head cabinet. They sell them online. A lot of players would find a lot of use from a Twin Reverb in a head cabinet. Its easier to transport, can be paired with any speakers/speaker cabinet and for session guys in particular, it can be kept in a multi-head road case, as well as be kept in the control room, separate from the cabinet when overdubbing parts which is very convenient in the studio. Congratulations!

I was gifted a Silvertone Danelectro Dolphin bass. I played it for years. Great sounding bass. Made for Sears 1959, 1960, 1961, and NEVER reissued.

That little Music Man amp sounded great. I was shocked when the Mesa worked. Very cool.

me too..I think when Zimm unscrewed the fuse and put it back in it made connection.. it’s happened to me more than once with old amps that have been sitting for awhile.

That Vox brings back memories. I had a Cambridge Reverb amp in the 70s. Not positive that it was tubes. Selling it was a mistake.

The Twin has its inputs right on the back panel! They're 1/4" jacks, including the one where the internal speakers plugged in (the one on the left that simply says "Speaker" .... the right one is "extension speaker"). You didn't need to replace the speakers to test it, just plug it into a cab that is a minimum of 8 ohms. That said, it's probably best that you didn't, as that is an old tube amp that's sat for years and the capacitors, if they are original, will be paper and oil and may need reforming, so your tech will bring it up gradually from 0 to 115 on a Variac. That Boogie isn't worth what the Mark series models were, but you can still get a good 600 to 800 for it, depending on the local market. I have to admit I wanted you to plug in the Twin with a cab, but at the same time, that was a selfish desire, as it would be better to bring it up slowly on a Variac.

You would do well to make a dim bulb current limiter. That way you can limit magic smoke and the like from developing.

Fender Twin Reverb amps of that vintage do not have speaker output wires, the speakers were wired to a 1/4" jack and plugged into the back, where it is clearly marked. You can plug that directly into that Fender 2-12 cabinet with a regular guitar cable.

I can walk in any classy guitar store , a old silvertone guitar can turn my head instantly , as for the Fender -Gibson cases, all that has to be done is get them back in respectfully condition as you probably know because they are just cool for being the real thing .. I love the old Vox amp and the fender and Mesa Boogie

The Twin Reverb is a 65-67' being a blackface. That baffle is a "drip edge", however it is not original to that amp (or the chassis is not original to that cabinet), since the drip edge were only on a silverface. Very cool finds!

The Fender Twin black panel is found up until the end of ‘67 but the drip edge is usually ‘68-early ‘69 with a silver faced panel. It’s not impossible you have a late ‘67 or early ‘68 black panel (left over) with the updated drip edge cover but I’ve never seen one before… also no speaker so it could be a parts special. The black face circuit could be authenticated by a specialist. The first silverface Twins (drip edge) used the blackface AB763 circuit until May 1968, when Fender switched to the AC568 circuit.
