After arriving in Belarus as involuntary migrant, Karim now helps migrants and refugees who, like himself, find themselves far from home. Karim shares that it was difficult for him to adapt at first - everything was new, and the language was unfamiliar. In addition, he had to work part-time as a taxi driver, in a shawarma shop, and on a construction site while studying at university.
Karim's desire to be useful and help those who face difficulties during migration led him to his current career, working for the International Organization for Migration.
