"It was by miracle that we made it," said Stephanie Zara on Wednesday, speaking to WCNC Charlotte.
The Zara family said Helene had waters rushing in quickly on their home in Swannanoa, just 21 miles outside of Asheville.

As a mother with a toddler seeing all of this, I feel such big feels for this family and every other family who experienced something similar. I have a friend who had to walk out in water with a baby. It all sounds so mortifying. I feel so blessed to have only had mild property damage from wind and trees, but I also can't help but feel some guilt every time I count those blessings. 😢 Never thought I'd see such a thing in my little home town.

Hello there, I was wondering, if I can share with you the most important thing ever in life. God the Father sent His holy Son Jesus to earth, to be born of a virgin. He grew up and died on the cross for our sins. Then He was put into a tomb for 3 days, after that Abba Father raised Jesus to life.He appeared to people, and went back to heaven. We all must sincerely receive Jesus into our life to be God's child. See John 1:12 for this please. Will you today genuinely by faith receive Jesus into your life for salvation?

Glad they are ok. Just a question..with those who lost their homes what happens about their mortgage? Do they still have to pay the mortgage if the house is gone? Does the mortgage company take the insurance money to pay off the mortgage instead of letting the people rebuild with that money? The reason I ask is after my home was badly damaged by hurricane Charley years ago, the builder never finished the job of fixing the house and the mortgage company simply kept about $15,000 of the insurance money. The did not apply that money to my principal, nothing, I did not get any back to replace my destroyed furniture as some of that money was intended for, no the mortgage company simply kept the money!
@twatts1523
@twatts1523 22 дня назад
My house was destroyed by fire. Homeowners insurance is usually 2 policies, one for the dwelling and one for personal property. 2 different claims must be submitted. I chose to handle the dwelling repairs myself, so the insurance company paid off my mortgage and gave me the remaining balance. I had to make a separate claim for my personal property losses. It was a tedious task to inventory every single item I lost. I had 2 years to submit the claim, and then they cut me a check.
@sallyprzybil2404
@sallyprzybil2404 22 дня назад
@@twatts1523 They said the law was they had to put the mortgage company’s name on all checks they sent. Yes I filed a second claim…I sent them a 409 page document with pictures and I even went through the JC Penny Catologe and sent excerpts from that on comparable items…a lot of my stuff was near new. Everyone in the area had damage and needed builders to build so it was hard to get a builder. Some people hired builders who then subcontracted to someone else who showed up for a couple days then disappeared with their money. It was not just me, lots of people got ripped off by contractors. I’m a widow, living alone, construction work is beyond my skill set.

In case some of you people forgot, this is AMERICA. We don't need help or support from any other countries WE ARE THE HELP. We aren't some 3rd world country that needs to beg for money. We don't need anyone to help clean up our disasters. WE (AMERICANS) pull together and do it ourselves because we aren't weak. WE are more than capable of standing on our own 2 feet and brushing ourselves off. Some of you may feel like we're entitled to getting help since we do it for everyone else BUT that is what being A LEADER IS. Someone has to lead the free world and keep justice/ democracy alive. [metaphor] You wouldn't ask a homeless person for money (especially if they are being invaded unjustly, shot at on a daily basis, rapidly losing their infrastructure and going through a genocide) hell no... you are a grown adult who has grown adult money and the help of fellow neighbors, friends, and family to help support you. Remember that whenever you feel like you need a handout. And especially remember that whenever you sleep under this flag🇺🇲 We have responsibilities and that not just a couple hrs of the day, that's 24/7 365 days a year. Humble yourself and realize that people KILL to be a U.S citizen. It's the greatest privilege of our world.
