Know that a lot of time and heart goes into these videos, almost 2 weeks of straight work between conception, script writing, voice over, editing and review. As someone who creates these videos for the pure love of the game and story and not a dedicated content creator, that means taking time off work and scheduling time to pour into these projects. This is probably the best Metroid Prime Lore series ever. Not only does it explain the lore of the game but it also dives even deeper than that and connects game design decisions and object placement into the story as well. It also presents the story in a ever cinematic way!

Love how you poke at the menace of the Boost Guardian. Probably the hardest boss fight in the game...and that is saying something. I think every returning player wanting another round of Metroid Prime Echoes dreads the point where they have to fight the darn beast.
This boss, THIS STUPID BOSS, this dude made me quit prime 2 for years, I did eventually comeback and only found out I needed to morph ball bomb its brown phase to continue all because I press the ball button on accident right before I died and realized it was the right option because the camera changed position, after all that I don’t know if anyone can relate to my awestricken feelings when I first entered Sanctuary Fortress. Now, prime 2 is my favorite prime game and I consistently return for randomizers and the like.
O-Lir's Holo message always gave me the chills. Even beyond death they wanted to continue the fight. A true warrior. That last line really made it personal, and pushed me to want to succeed on their behalf. To fight for their lost honor. Such great story telling.
Hell yes! Can’t wait to watch this with my 17 year old daughter. We been Metroid fans for a long time. And this is the final months before she goes to college at Stanford. So we are enjoying every Metroid lore video before that day comes.

@@TW33NSW4GGaming Thank you. It’s been a wild ride. But it’s awesome seeing Samus inspire many girls into great things. She wants her physics engineering degree so she can get into robotics and build advanced technology, and many ways Samus and the Metroid games inspired her.
I really dig this format. It's like a story walkthrough. A lot of videos that talk about the stories in games serve more as quick summaries that omit the finer details or flat out avoid many aspects in fear of spoiling the game for potential newcomers, which is fair. But not enough people take their time like this, so it's really appreciated. I hope to see more stuff like this in the future if you do choose to retell Prime 3. I'd love to see this type of video series tackle other franchises as well, especially other sci-fi games.

When I was a kid, the boost guardian stopped me in my tracks. Years later, I googled a guide to beat it and went on to beat the rest of the game. That fricking boss I was stuck on for YEARS!!! Years!!!!

I just saw part 1 only recently, and thought Part 2 was scrapped. But now I see it's real, and I am ecstatic. Thank you. As someone who watches a lot of different RU-vidrs, I know the life struggle. If Part 3 takes another 4 years, I'll be patient and understanding. (Oh who am I kidding? I'm a Metroid fan, I know all about waiting a long time for something that is coming out)

My hope is that I can get Part 3 out sooner, especially with so much attention on the Metroid Prime games right now. It'd be good to complete the Echoes Stories Retold.
Watched part 1 today. I thought I understood the story pretty well. Turns out I can read and that's about it. I love the amount of attention and detail that goes into this series so far. Holy hell man bravo, also starting part 2 today as well.

pro tip for anyone fighting boost guardian, go into ball form, and press yourself as close to a wall as possible while the guardian is boosting around. if you stay still, you are less likely to bump into the boss. in fact, you may only touch the boss once or twice if you stay still during the boost phases

While I didn't wait as long since I stumbled with part 1 when my liking for Metroid reignited with Prime 1 Remastered, the part 1 video was so great I got excited when I saw the announcement of part 2 and it didn't dissapoint! Glad to see you managed to make the part 2 and waiting with excitement for next part!
I was always confused as to why aether was split into two dimensions and no other planet experienced this when a leviathan touched down. It seems as though it is the nature of Aether itself that caused this. The planet trying to preserve itself
That is the interesting thought! Between the mystery behind the Light of Aether, the planet itself being a rogue planet and the apparent resistance in some regions to resist the affects of the great poison over time compared to other worlds, there are some unique qualities that go beyond the Dark World! It truly is a special planet.

Can't wait for part 3, great reteling of the story and lore. Ita a must play and doenst even touch on the emotional and ethical history/experience this game produces 😭 But also it sort of does, i love your content either way ❤
One thing I only noticed just now is that, when Samus is about to be jumped by the Ing after the first encounter with Dark Samus, she shoots into the sky, but the shots don't look like her regular Power Beam... I don't think it's ever confirmed, but is it possible that Samus actually gave up a couple of her power-ups as decoys in order to escape the first encounter alive, knowing that she would be able to get them back if she were to face the Ing again prepared?
I'd almost forgotten that I wanted part 2! Great job on this! 28:30 I see this over and over again. Why don't people just use the multi-missiles to shoot all 4 wings in one attack?
Truth be told, that was my first fight against Chykka in years and I completely panicked and forgot about the Seeker that I had only recently picked up 🤣🙃

I believe it!! I can't remember how many times it took me my first time but I remember it being multiple sittings. No joke as a kid, still difficult as an adult!
I think this is one of those fights where the mechanics really step up the difficulty along with the story. It seems out of place that a sub-guardian would be such a tough kill, but the bosses of Torvus really do step up in difficulty as a while. I think that's in line with the attention Samus earns after the first major blow of returning Agon's energy. That being said, I'd say it is the hardest boss of Torvus, perhaps harder than Chykka itself which can definitely be a head scratcher.
It's heavily rumored that the Ing in this game are descended form Phaz-Ing aka the phazon variant of Inglets encountered in Metroid Prime 3 Corruption. It's said that when the Leviathan that hit Aether and toar open the rift the created the Dark Aether Dimension to which it was transported to, the Phaz-Ing that we're on the said Leviathan we're some how either altered or simply evolved from beings of Phazon to beings of Darkness. Its also rumored that the Sky Temple in Dark Aether is actually the Leviathan itself and Emperor Ing was the Corrupted guardian, espicaly since it's stated that Emperor Ing is the very first too come into existence. Though it's also possible that neither the Leviathan or whatever creature was chosen and mutated to be it's Guardian we're encountered during the events of Echoes and that bot we're indirectly eliminated when Dark Aether was destroyed.

Well that just tells me that you have a knack for wiping those guys out before they can cut and run! I believe the game codes in a minimum amount of fight time, maybe 2 minutes or so, before this can take place. So if you wipe them out before that, they won't have a chance to flee.

28:35 You know, I always thought you were supposed to use the seeker missiles on the back of Chykka's wings. I guess you could super missile each of them one at a time, though.
Honestly the Seeker is actually more effective and given the fact that you get the Seeker during the arc of Torvus, canonically it makes more sense to use it. Fun fact, when I was recording this run through, I was so nervous fighting the Chykka that I forgot all about the Seeker and defaulted to the muscle memory of the super missile 🤣
Watching this series, I really pray that my prediction is correct and that Nintendo give this masterpiece a remaster like how they did with Prime 1. I am confident with how well it sold, especially the unexpected demand for physical copies of the game and Nintendo not being able to keep up at all with demand. They gave the same treatment to Metroid Fusion too and I’ll bet that Zero Mission is next on the chopping block. After Echoes, I’ll bet they’ll remaster Corruption (I wonder how they’ll treat the motion controls of the game. Will they restrict it from the Lite model? Or will they bind it to the joysticks?). Then, it’ll be time for Prime 4. That’s the smart way for them to build up hype for Nintendo’s biggest underdog franchise.

That's a good point! I doubt it's candlelight coming through windows since the city is abandoned - maybe it's the culmination of their illumination infrastructure that's still active. Sanctuary Fortress is pretty well lit, maybe the city had even more lighting that's still intact, like the equivalent of street lights or exterior city building lights.
28:00 welcome to the boss battle I could never beat. It even gave me nightmares as a kid... not because it was scary... but because it literally made me quit this game despite how into it I was. I remember crying trying to beat this boss.
