Can’t imagine how difficult it must be to make an episode. Set up camera, hike, go back and get the camera, again, again, and again. Then putting it all together. Great work, Luke!
Then he does it in and out of the tent when it's pouring rain. Sometimes, I'd just be happy for him to snuggle down and listen to the rain on the tarp.
Luke, I’ve watched you for years. I remember when you looked so young and slim. Your videos were not as professional, not as clean and on point as now. You were very talkative. Now, you’ve beefed up, matured, and cut back on the talking. Your camp kits are put together nicely and you demonstrate competent use of everything. Your videos and cinematography are top notch. I may not care about what you’re reviewing; I have all the backpacking and truck camping junk I want. I just enjoy your spin on camp things. I try to setup my kits and camps like you, slick, fast and good. I’ve been doing this a long time. I was woodsy before my military time and woodsy after. I was obsessed with hunting and fishing for years. I’m an old retired Army vet, spending years in different kinds of wild environments, all over the globe, some nasty, some pretty good. I wanted to give you a BIG PAT on the back and wish you much more success. Well done, strong work, Luke. P.S. Consider, “Refresh” eye drops. Or any good eye drops that contain, in the ingredient, methyl cellulose, 1% or 0.5%. I have dry eyes too. You’ll be glad.
I commented about a year or two ago about how I was deployed overseas and watching your videos when I can. I just wanted to say I’m finally coming back stateside and your videos have helped a ton over these deployments and kept me looking forward to escaping to the forest when I get home. Thanks for the content and for keeping me sane.
@matthew2764 No offense to you bro, just an observation and when he said that in a chat during a video it kinda pi$$ed me off. Safe travels if you are still in transit and welcome back if you are home. 🤜
I love thunder, too. As a kid, I always tried to get outside in thunderstorms. But knowing me, my parents used to lock the door so I couldn't escape. My grandmother took pity on me and opened a window on the second floor, and we both watched-and smelled-the thunderstorm. It's one of my best-loved memories: my grandmother and me at the open window watching thunderstorms.
I have a similar eye condition. My optometrist suggested washing my eyes with baby wash to clean the ducts. It really helps. Thanks for another great video adventure.
@@scottdunbar4898 It's a business. You try it. I just watched Isabel Paige give and interview. She is like Janna Jinton (the Scandinavian girl). They go out in the country and look beautiful. Aside from that, they are smart and creative. Isabel explained about all the photographer tricks and camera tools she uses. All the editing that goes into it. She is usually up at 4:00 a.m. to get the right light. I love her more than ever.
@@johnhall5843 This is Whitetop Mountain near Damascus VA. Beautiful place that I've hiked and camped at for a decade though Luke does embellish this place a lot. It's not remote with no roads. You can drive to the top of the mountain and their is a radio tower there. Where he set's up in this vid he is roughly 100ft away from an access road. I've camped at this exact spot and most of the other places he shows in his vids on this area. The Appalachian trail runs threw there too.
Man, that is some beautiful land right there love the moss in the woods and then that one shot with the mountains. Oh my God, beautiful land, my friend.
On behalf of everyone watching, we appreciate the attention to detail and the fact that you film yourself hiking. We understand the effort needed to do this. Thank you. Makes for a great video.
Hello 👋 Luke, greetings from Northern California. Thank you for the tag along. Be thankful that you are enjoying the ☔ rain. In Northern California over 700,000 acres of forest land have burned so far. Stay safe out there. The best to You, Susie and Family. See You on the next one. 😊
Hi Luke! I find it so funny every time you say “nasties choice”, it’s the brand of coffee I drink and flavors! They, also, make espresso!! Jenelle got me on to it because of you!! She keeps saying we need to support “Luke and Susie”!! 😂🤣❤️❤️ be well my friend!!👍🏿💯😂
I remember a clap of thunder from many years ago in the Daniel Boone National Forest near Cumberland Falls, Kentucky that was so intense I swear my heart stopped for a second or two. It's one of those things you remember forever from the woods.
This forest is just beautiful with the luscious green forest floor. I would try not to step on the greenery it's just me too beautiful. Thanks for sharing your adventure ALOHA From Hawaii ❤❤❤❤
For your dry eyes, Walmart has some OTC drops for that. The name is Systane. it's 18 bucks a bottle but they really do work. My mom, who has Glaucoma, uses them and she says they work great. Also, they have no preservatives in them so you can use as much as you like.
My ophthalmologist suggested Systane also for my dry eyes. He also gave me a prescription medication for the dry eyes and that helped even more. Lately he suggested Refresh Tears - and I really like that as well.
Think about getting a dehumidifier. It would dry out your gear a lot faster. Our home is 892sq ft, small, like yours. I wash our clothes, then hang to dry, turn on the dehumidifier before we go to bed, and they are dry by the next morning. It may take 1 or 2 days for your tents, but it'd be worth it.
I'm curious. If you're an avid seamstress, why do you spell it as one who sows seeds? And, if you were to spell it 'sewer', well, that's what you would use to flush away human waste. 🤣
I’m watching this in the tent at an ocean campground listening to the waves crash against the shore and rain on the tent in one ear, and this in the other.
Ask your eye doctor about punctal plugs. Keeps the tears from draining as quickly into your throat. Also get some lid scrub. Helps clean and open the glands. Experienced it myself. Chronic dry eye. I can clear up. Mine did. Good luck.
As always, a pure delight to HEAR those wonderful nature sounds! The Nuthatch calls made me smile.. the little bird with a big voice that always make me think of evergreen trees! Susie is SO talented.. the zippered bag is awesome, and you will treasure it because she made it for you. Cheers to you and yours!🌲
I from time to time will watch camping videos out of curiosity BUT no one is as efficient and enjoyable as LUKE. You do an outstanding job hands above everyone else. Love love love what you do. 👍 Strength and honor from this military combat family. 🇺🇸
I have learned to appreciate a thunderstorm by watching your videos. It really is invigorating and rather peaceful. Just sit on the patio and listen to the thunder Roll in. I really do appreciate you with all the work that you have to do just to video an episode and then go home and put it together. and Susie, she’s amazing. God bless both of you.
Just looking at most tags, that area could have been logged 40-50 years ago. That could explain the tire, I know my grandfather was using tractors to log in the 70s.
Your vlogs are both so relaxing and inspiring! I´m going out tomorrow myself for a nice hike and a swim in a lake. :-) I also love that so many of your videos have weather like thunderstorms and snowstorms during the winter. LOVE beeing out in different seasons and experience the forces of nature. Keep it up and cheers from Sweden! 🙂
Beautiful forest. I'm always leery of moss because most of the time I busted my rear end it's been because the Moss shifted underneath me and left me on the ground. Love Colombian coffee. Interesting dyneema bag. Thank you for helping youth groups and donate and gear to them, and Susie for helping coordinate it all. Dunno about Bigfoot, but there could be anything out there in that forest. Great video.
We need rain so bad here in ohio where i live. I love your videos. Ive fallen asleep listening to the rain. Thank you so much. I wish i was able to do this. I love being out in nature
If there's one thing Luke knows how to do, it's hydrating a bag of dried "food". He also gets a pass on wearing sunglasses in the dark forest for a physical reason but a pair of high contrast yellows come to mind if for protection. Amazing looking forest and plenty of wildlife it seems, cameras would be a plus. Thanks for the video and work.
Luke, your channel would earn hundreds of thousands more subscribers, if you camped overnight in known Bigfoot and Dogmen habitats, ie, Southwestern NC, Eastern NC, Southwestern Virginia and Eastern Tennessee. Thank you for posting this.👍🏿
it is very rare that i ever comment on YT...but your super cool! i love storms & feeling all warm & snuggly in a tent with a good storm kicking off outside.....Keep ur material coming sir. We have amazing storm here @ the moment, and i am gonna head out into the woods... inspired by you! (my safe happy place is being in a storm :) I know it doesn't make sense, but to people like us, it does!
Those of us, like you and me, pay a small price for the beautiful greenery in our surroundings...rain. It gets tiresome at times; but, the rewards are so beautiful. P & H.
Hi Luke all the way from South Africa, Cape Town. You inspired me so much that I'm taking my entire staff camping at the end of this year. We're a bunch of teachers looking after the very small ones and in much need of a break, and there is no better way to go camping and become one with nature. Thank you for your awesome channel. Alwaniese
This forest is every forest in Ireland. Endless blankets of green.. love it. Liking the watch.. I use the Garmin instinct military cross over. Great watch but miss the coloured screen. The quality of your shots is unreal Like. Great video. ☘️☘️
Please be grateful for the rain. I live in North West Alabama and we are dry as a bone. Still love your channel. I watch it with my hubby. Best. Kemper Key
Luke if I’m not mistaken that tire was from logging company known as the CC Camp over hundred years ago. The were the people that cut your highways through the area. And that wire was telegraph wire.
Hey Luke. I have been following you frequently for a few years now. Every episode is awesome goodness. I enjoy your other channel where you don't talk. I prefer you talking, you are great orator, narrator and solid knowledge in your content. I am watching you from Singapore. Susie and you are a dynamic couple. Keep the episodes going. I thoroughly enjoy them. A nice surreal break. Hope to hear back from you. Erickson from Singapore!
1000 ft2 might be small for in the USA. But in the Netherlands, the national average for a home (including all dwellings like apartments, terraced houses, two in one and free standing is 570 ft2. The surface for the most common type that is not an apartment (terraced houses) is between 810 and 1620 ft2 with an average of around 1300 ft2
Love these adventures. I have bought gear from your website, I got a great deal and it was fun to see the video test then use the gear. I still use both items. Been watching for years this is still my favorite channel! 🙏
Since you mentioned Bigfoot, it got me thinking... What is the weirdest, craziest, non-explainable sighting, noise, or anything you have ever encountered while camping or hiking? Better yet! If you have multiple encounters, would you ever do a compilation of video clips of these weird events, maybe as a Halloween special or something? Heck, you could do just a video of you telling us your craziest/scariest encounters as like a story time Halloween special. Just a few thoughts I had. Love your videos, especially the winter ones so while I bake in TN's heat, I can pretend Ive been camping in the snow LOL. Have fun and stay safe!
I think I can explain that large tractor tire. Someone must have dropped it in the forest when it was just a small tire, and then, over the years, it has grown huge. Because of all the humidity in the air.
Darn. Hate the day-trip videos. This one fooled me--- thought it was a camping video. I am definitely a Luke fan, have been for years, And I know he can't please everybody.
Always love your videos. An interesting thing on this video occurs at 21 minutes and last for about 15 seconds. You are eating and when you get up, turn and start walking, all your clothing, shoes, backpack look purple and then they go back to the normal colors. Check it out.
"Hey Luke, great video as always! The mystery of the tractor tire in the middle of the dense, spongy forest is truly intriguing. It's hard to imagine how something like that could end up so deep in the woods, especially with no roads or clear paths nearby. Could it have been dropped from a plane, or maybe it was carried in by flooding? The thick moss and dense trees make the area seem almost impenetrable for heavy machinery. Keep up the awesome work and stay safe out there-I'm looking forward to seeing what else you uncover in the 'Bigfoot' forest! 👣🌲"
