This was an awesome video!!😂 Man gets new toy and doesn’t need directions to put it together and get it working. Wrong. Wife reads directions and saves the day. The only mistake was it’s all on video. Priceless. My wife has saved me from blowing a head gasket 🤯 several times. We use to fire the generator up every time when our power went out. Now we use a solar generator because the power in most cases is only out for a day. It’s much quieter and we leave it inside when using it also. Bought a Jackery 1500 to use dispersed camping so we didn’t have to run the generator a lot. We loved it so much we bought a 3000 for the house. We have solar panels to charge it and keep it charged. Loving your videos! Especially this one!
We just had a power outage about a month ago. I fired up my Generac 6500k gen and ran 2 extension cords, 1 to my stand up freezer and 1 to the fridge in the kitchen. Then It has a 30 amp connection and I hooked up my RV Travel Trailer (Grand Design XLS 22mle) and we camped in the driveway for a day and a half before they got power back on. It was mid 80’s, so I had the a/c going. Used about 4 gallons of gas, but we didn’t suffer like we would have in the house with no a/c. Grilled or griddled all meals, and cooked on our propane stove, even invited the neighbors over for a meal and fired up our solo stove. 1 of our neighbors had such a great time, they are buying a small camper and want to go out with us. Great video!
After watching this video my wife told me to go to costco and get the same generator for our bedroom ac in case we have our regular storm problems here in Florida. It worked like a charm from my first try after re-reading all the instructions.
It is a great generator unit... But for its Firman price, size and weight you can get a much better inverter generator at Costco the A-iPower GXS7100iRD 7100W Dual Fuel Inverter Generator that has 240v outlet and you can run your whole house. By the way I have both units the this Firman in the video and the A-Ipower and since I have the second I have not used the Firman thinking about selling to get another A-Ipower from Costco.
Thanks for sharing the unboxing. We have a similar-sized dual-fuel generator by "Champion." I have found that for easy starting on propane, pull choke on, activate electric starter, and as soon as you hear combustion happening, push choke off and release starter switch. We run ours at least a few minutes every couple of months to keep the battery charged. Have not tried ours on gasoline.
I bought my Firman Tri-Fuel at Costco for the hurricane season. I got to use it for the first time for the 2021 Texas Freeze and again later when we lost power from over 2000 lightning strikes hitting the grid in the Houston area. I run it on NG and connect it to my panel.
Not sure if you guys had a Lance 1172 at the same time that you had this generator but do you have any idea if this one COULD fit up inside the cavity on the 1172 where the Onan is located? OR alternatively do you think it would fit inside the 1172's rear cargo hold if it was configured to be able to support the weight of it inside?
You may want to consider putting in a transfer box. You can plug your gen. into it and just flip a switch to power what you want in the house. How long was the power out there?
Hi Joe, Here's a link to the generator on Costco's website - www.costco.com/firman-3200w-running--4000w-peak-dual-fuel-inverter-generator.product.100843922.html#:~:text=As%20a%20Whisper%20Hybrid%20Dual,beauty%20will%20run%20for%209hrs. It claims 9 hours but we haven't tested it's longevity. I'm sure it would depend on how many appliances are drawing off of it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
