We take a look at the River Severn at Worcester during the worst flood the city has seen bar 1. The level here in the video almost topped the record. We use the drone to see the true extent of the damage.
My sympathies are definitely with anyone who has been affected by these most "extreme of floods" and that they can eventually recover from such a horrible and challenging experience!!
Someone needs to step in now and say enough is enough, councils need to clear drains more frequently, environment agency need to dredge rivers and large drains/dykes, it might not prevent flooding but surely it's got to help, lives and property must come before environment and wildlife
Great content as usual. Always love your drone footage as very well done. Love your railway footage especially the recent Old Oak Common etc audits. I used to drive trains into Paddington based at Oxford retired in 2017.👍
@@DJEMEDIA "'Oim gonna 'av to call the police." Good video though in seriousness. Glad we tend not to experience floods down here so much in South Wales. Not where I am anyway!
Me and me bro used to go boating in rubber dinghies on the pitchcroft many times over the years as kids. Now my bro has to use one to get in and out of his pub at the moment, rose and crown ,severnstoke. 😂
Copenhagen Street car park at the start by the look of it. Such a shame to see peoples homes and businesses suffering when the cost of living is so high - here's hoping things get back to normal soon.
They’ve perfected Weather modification. You wouldn’t have thought that they needed to fill the skies with chemmmitraiils on New Year’s Day, but they did. I don’t see them helping only hindering 😂😅
It would be a huge help if the River was dredged every 10 years. Debris builds up at the bottom of the river, pushing up the height of the river bank. Hurrah for dredging boats!
Plenty of swans there definitely on this video yer we get the swans where we are come pecking at the front door like lol I tell you something dj you definitely get about a lot yer fair play to you 👍
It's just as bad either side of the M5 between Gloucester and Tewkesbury. You probably passed it on the way to film this. It's creeping up to the static caravans either side.
Not the worst floods worcester has seen at all The floods of 2007 and 2020 were worse but the flood of 1947mis recorded as the worst floods to hit worcester
All built on flood plains, wth did they think would happen, always lots of flooding from the Severn. Poor planning all round and has been for many year's.
Unfortunately council contractors do the bare minimum, a main road nr me was resurfaced & I have noticed a drain has be tarmacked over & I have reported it , I will be surprised if it will be back in service soon !
This could all be avoided if the goverment pit some money imto building a new channel for flood water to travel down just a shame we put all that money into ukraine
Sympathy to those affected ........ but the moral of the story is .... just because it hasn't flooded for years, decades or even centuries .... DONT BUILD ON NATURAL FLOOD PLANES and then cry when it gets flooded and blame it on climate change. THIS IS A NATURAL EVENT its happened many times before and it will happen many times again. The railway is high and dry, the cathedral is high and dry.....does this not speak volumes??
How ironic , that Britain introduced man made global warming via the industrial revolution , and the river severn was instrumental in the industrial revolution
