HE HAS FAIRLY LARGE HARDENED STEEL BALLS WIND bullies the airplane: "u insignificant, little thing" , i will scare u off the runway , i will throw u on the right side of tarmac, onto the grass on left side of tarmac Airplane to wind, "lands on the midline of tarmac" Airplane to wind, "i never aimed for tarmac, i was aiming for grass on left side of tarmac" only u put me on the midline. update your information
My opinion is, that kind of landings are not only skill of the pilot, but they are more simply luck! The dash 8 should be grounded above a certain level of wind.
The first pilot must have thought "Damn, I have to get this damn plane on the ground. My passengers won't survive a second landing attempt like that." - and so, he did. Congratulations for this amazing landing!
Yep, that A338 from Emirates just came down rocksolid, while those Dash 8s got punished and beaten down by the winds as hell. It was like: Hey, the windspeed my engines produce is much higher than you, Friederike :) Or: 63kts in gusts? I get 63kts in idle
First plane's pilot got a late message from his girlfriend... GF: "baby, my parents aren't home..." Pilot: "Say no more.. I am landing the plane now... "
WOW!!! That first pilot has some insane skills! And deserves a raise!!! I’ve never seen a plane flip around like that and he still put it on the ground safely! Crazy
These pilots are AMAZING!! I agree about the first one - unbelievable- the passengers must have been terrified. Look at how many of the pilots still manage to put it down smack in the middle of the centre line. Incredible!
I fly a lot, very regularly and have never been scared or nervous about flying. I've also seen every single Air Crash Investigation episode and these things don't usually phase me at all. But this video managed to spike up my anxiousness big time! I've so much respect for these skilled pilots! There's been crashes in far more manageable conditions. Well done pilots!
ANA was not impressed - it's like this every day at their homebase in NRT :D FANTASTIC JOB filming this! Some really dangerous looking but professional landings!
Just brilliant. Thanks. The A380 looked unperturbed. This vid illustrates something I find amazing. These landings are made by hundreds of pilots all over the world at any given moment. I would expect far more accidents since the judgments and manual inputs are made by two individuals). The pilots are just so skilled.
A great job would have been to abort the landing like others did. That Was not an stabile approach nor a decision for safety.... A superior Pilot is a pilot who uses his superior judgement to avoid situations which would require his superior skills!
7:38 I think that's the most stable landing I see in this video. And then after landing the plane turns around and you see ANA Inspiration of Japan. Hats off to that plane's crew! It was beautiful.
Bravo to those amazing pilots. Not just for the landings, but for the courage and patience to call it off and go around again to give it another try. Real professionals.
Yes, it is crazy ^^. But as spectacular as it looks, it was a safe landing. ^^. The pilot has turned his machine exactly into the wind, let himself drift with the wind, and then put on plan. A normal procedure in a strong storm and absolutely safe ^^.
That first landing was phenomenal. That pilot is obviously a real pro to pull off that. Could you imagine being in that plane near the back? Jerked 30 feet from side to side. It almost looked way too dangerous to try a landing.
That first plane looked perpendicular to the runway just as he landed. Holy Crap. Those pilots all deserve a bonus for these landings, if not a huge raise. Bless them. And why, when their tires have touched the runway or they're just a few feet above the runway, do they go back up and around again?
EK A380 First officer::We landed! Captain:That was over butter,I didnt even feel! First O.:Yea sir, same, *few seconds later* *Windshear, windshear, windshear* Both pilots:wt and f Edit:that was kinda funny
That first Dash-8 with that sideways landing, everyone in comments are applauding the pilot for such a good job. However he should not have attempted that landing under those circumstances and put the lives of those passengers in danger. If that plane had crashed and killed all 80 people aboard would he be praised for his boldness?
The time-lapse opening is a cool idea. That first turbo-prop landing? Ah _Hell No!_ I was on a Fokker 100 landing in a brutal thunderstorm in Dallas one summer. EMS had to meet the plane on the tarmac because a tourist from another country, that didńt speak English vomited so much they had passed out. Boy the flight attendants were crying about the mess and I was gagging at the smell..
I'd love to hear the cockpit chatter while all this is going on. I bet it's very quiet in the passenger section though. That first one had to be a ex-Navy carrier pilot!
Gratulation zu diesen Aufnahmen. Ich habe aufgrund von einem Nachrichten Clip nach Sturm Videos gesucht und dieses gefunden. Unglaublich was manche ein Können zeigen. Hut ab, wer da Nerven behält! Bin schwer beeindruckt.
