I always thought those new Stormcasts would made great Custodes in alternative armour maybe an "archaic" suit of armour. They look great as marines too.
Hey, awesome!! I had some left over Stormcast from a different conversion, and ended up turning them into some Jump Pack equipped Assault Marines. Because of the different armour, I decided to run them as Vanguard Veterans, and thinking I might extend the alternate arour to all my non-Terminator Veteran infantry.
Cheers! That's sounds, really cool! It should give the army a unique look and be fun to stand out. Plus, there are tons of opportunities for extra homebrew lore for your chapter too.
This is a brilliant idea. I don’t have any Stormcast because I’ve never bought any AoS, but this kind of makes me want to pick some up from eBay to try out!
@@magnusmillerwilson Connecting the Power/Jump Packs was the trickiest part for me. I ended up using about 5mm of sprue on the back. Does require some patience, especially with the massive gap that GW Jump pack have for a connection point.
DUDE! This conversion is amazing! I have a lot of Stormcast models and I thought it would be cool to have the Hammers of Sigmar evolve into the Celestial Lions Chapter of the Space Marines. Now I can't help but notice how easy it would be to take a female stormcast model and convert it into a Battle Sister for an Adepta Sororitas army. Thanks for your talent and inspiration.
@@AnotherDayMiniatures Yeah, man! That would be awesome. I'm working on a conversion now. I'm not the fastest or best kit-basher in the world, but your videos got my creativity going.
Speed is something that comes with just making too many of of them, all that matters is having a great time making them. Always a joy to hear these videos don't just entertain but inspire to make cool stuff :D
I havent been able to play 40k since 8th and ive decided i want a black templars army but i want it to be my best painted and converted army primarily using mkIII marines. I think i just found the perfect paint scheme. Thank you so much
Me after just trudging through heavy rain to get bits from my shed for another project then seeing this video: *sigh* back into the rain for Sigmarine bits. Great job, man. I really like the video layout. Made the kitbash seem as simple as it should be and nailed the paint job.
Ive always liked the idea of kitbasing modern scale Grey knights from stormcast. Vigilors and a few other kits have the robes and capes, then the Anniliators for terminators....and of course Bastian.
damn. making spacemarines with stromcast looks awesome. that paint job is also super well executed, i especially like the head and flames. i'm not too amazed by the look of the purity seals. on account of the fish scales, maybe you could paint them a very dark metalic black
Cheers, mate! The head turned out better than I expected, given how relatively fast it was. Yeah, the purity seals did come off a bit flat in the end 😄. I'm planning to do something similar and use the AP Grimblack wash over it. It should darken it down to a near black metal.
@@AnotherDayMiniatures Yeah that would work and using his skills teaching the new guys So that way they could become the most successful version of themselves they can be For themselves and their chapter cough cough Legion And for the emperor Plus he could be one of those Marines who didn't get super bulky thanks to the augmentation And he has a niche for being sneaky All possible things just for your little guys lore
Ye, I always found that part of the lore very interesting. Even with all that biomancy, Space Marines still vary in size so much. The ideas are great. Cheers!
Thank you! Kitbashing is tons of fun but can be a bit daunting, especially with how expensive many of these models are. The best advice I can think of is to start small: add a few pouches, replace a few hands. The important part is to measure twice and cut once. 😄 Above all, have fun with it and make what you think looks cool.
0:56 hey brother man!! Heat gun!! Getr got and all the plastic becomes pliable…then you can repose. Works magic on capes, tabards, tentacles, fingers, arms etc
Cheers! Unfortunately, my lack of scripts leads to that. I tend to freestyle everything, but I'm glad the improvements are noticeable. I've started re-recording parts to eliminate repetitive words, with 'decided' being the biggest offender at the moment. 🤣
tbh I think kit bashing Stormcast and space marines/chaos space marines into Alpha Legion could be sick, nice way to get the scales that Alpha Legion is known for:)
I don't know why, but this gives me Dune vibes, or at the very least how I envisioned House Atriedes soldiers to look like. Great work btw, I might grab a free Stormcast at a local GW store and make one of these on my own.
Pleasure to hear :) I had a similar idea for making a few space marines in that theme. I can never stick to one project for too long, too many awesome things to paint.
Those are really fantastic, unfortunately a bit harder to find nowadays. I have a few Sequitors, but they are push to fit, and the idea of trying to separate some of the fused pieces is nightmare fuel :D.
doing a contrast black over the scale mail could improve that if you arent happy with it. It does kind of pop and draw the eye away from the rest of the focus area (his head and the fire)
That's awesome, stormcasts releases are basically a range refresh for Blood Angels 😄. Did you use the old power packs or go with the stormcast prosecutors wings ?
I used stormcast eternal preators as my grey knight interceptors. Resin hooded heads. Proper backpacks and convertedthe axes i to halberds. Look much more stealthy.
Awesome! I was thinking of using my 2nd Ed. Stormcast Eternals since I've heard they are being dropped by GW. Either making some Dark Angels, Black Templar or a new clergy based faction.
Yeah that whole thing is still a bit of a shock as most of my painted stormcasts were all the original design. You could also use them now in the Inquisitorial army, they would be a great match for that theme.
As soon as I saw that (awesome) conversion it made me wonder « what else are stormcasts being converted into ». I’ve been disappointed to see no sister of battle, let alone sister of silence, conversion, that seems to be a good fit too though, no ?
@nathanjora7627 No promises, but the idea is fantastic. Something I'll most likely circle round to eventually. Yeah the cost of the hobby is quite brutal, and somehow gets even more expensive each year.
No idea, but one day, I hope. 😅 I made one version of an Intercessor for it but never got to finishing it, sadly. I was just recently looking at that Terminator, thinking of revisiting it. Unfortunately, I get sidetracked like a Labrador at a ball factory.
Thank you! It's Silver Brush 3000S-4 Black Velvet, it's technically a water color brush but somehow ended up being my favorite brush after trying out all the other popular choices.
@@AnotherDayMiniaturesI’m definitely going to look into getting a brush like that because all my cheap Amazon brushes never retain a good point and I need a solid one for getting tiny details like yours lol
It's decent, but like all brushes, it wears down with time. I usually use the #4 for as much of the model as I can, and only then move down to the #2 and #0. They would probably last even longer if I took proper care of them, but I often forget that I left paint on them 😅
@@AnotherDayMiniatures LoL nobody is perfect, plus it’s more about making the models something we can be happy with rather than making brushes last longer
Can't tell if the right arm didn't get a shoulder pad, or has a phobos style tiny one. Model looks a little unbalanced up top... Paint job is pretty darn impressive though
I strongly theorise the Stormcasts were formerly the Second and Eleventh SM Legions psychically banished by the Emperor of Man to a complete alternative universe, IE AoS, and as time evolved, their technology devolved so they could fit in.
