This gatha was commissioned by the BCA Music Committee using the winning lyrics selected from the youth gatha lyric writing contest in 2023. The premiere viewing took place on September 1, 2024 during the hybrid commemorative service at Buddhist Church of San Francisco to celebrate the BCA 125th anniversary, 800 years of the Jodo Shinshu teaching, and the 850 years since Shinran Shonin's birth.
With gratitude to the Federation of Dharma School Teachers League (FDSTL) for sponsoring this project in celebration of the BCA 125th anniversary.
