Did you know? Nueva Vizcaya Province is the citrus capital of Luzon island, the biggest island of my country. Majority of the citrus comes from Kasibu town where the soil is very fertile. Aside from fruits, Nueva Vizcaya Province is also a big producer of vegetables where majority of the people rely on agriculture. Thanks to the fertile soil and good weather.
Hi Gayyem, In my home state of Florida, the United States of America, we have a very similar fruit as your seedless satuma. It's called a tangerine. It's orange color on both outside and inside.....delicious. We also have many area that are similar to the rain forest as your country does. Common misconception. That an orange has be be yellow to be sweet... that's not always right..I seen green or multi color orange that are sweeter than sugar...I seen yellow orange that are so sour.. watching this episode brought back so many memories from my childhood ( Puerto Rico)..and the shot of that Guanabana.. Made my mouth water... nothing like a freshly picked fruit. Thanks for the memories.take care..I see your siblings are growing well.. It looks more like a clementine or tangerine. Nectarine is different from it. I live in Canada and when I was still in the Philippines I remember eating this kind of fruit and it's called Dalandan.

I remember getting driven through the rice fields near/in San Jacinto, so peaceful and picturesque especially the hill country there.

just learned from Devour Asia that dalandan is Citrus aurantium (bitter orange, sour orange, Seville orange) and dalanghita is Citrus nobilis (mandarin orange).

Hello Gayyem Ben! First, I didn't know Nueva Viscaya is the Citrus capital of the Philippines, good to know. I think your Satsuma is what we call "Dalandan" in Manila. I haven't had Dalandan for 43 years or more :-( ... I think it is better than Oranges which have thicker "skin" unlike Dalandan which is much like Kalamansi (the Philippine Lime). Here in the United States, we have Tangerine which is closed enough to Dalandan except, the skin is also orange in color and is smaller than Dalandan. The inside is the same, bright orange in color.
