This adventure has been playtested more than we can count. Every single time, every single party had a different course and playthrough experience. I'm probably a bit biased but trust me when I say this, This is how strong the replayability element is in Story of Many. Thanks a lot RollingSolo for yet another great playthrough video!
I am excited right now, the tiles are fantastic, fleshing out the map, fog of war, combat, narratives, riddles ( water temple vibes), dark theme. What is there not to love. Now I am only praying for audio narration. Thank you Rolling Solo for providing this.
I seriously appreciate all your videos. Well, at least videos for games that I have some interest. You do an excellent job explaining everything. Well done again!!
Thank you! Would love to see how you will use your abilities/skills in combat as well. Because you should be available to build mage with summon/dmg tier for example. How to upgrade those tiers/builds and how to use them, if you can combine or something.
Exploration and the overworld part seems cool. However i hope we can see some more complex combats during the ks as this combat was pretty much the same as a game like folklore where the tactical choices were very limited
Hey! This combat was basic for the purposes of showing what really happened on the forest combat of the game. As the game goes on the combat opens up even more and there are many strategies you can employ as you go along. The prototype rules have been released and I’m sure more combat details will be on the campaign page for you!
As a fellow Canadian I have to push back on the totally unacceptable shipping price that is literally over twice US price. 85USD vs 40.00 to the us I know shipping is expensive but this isn’t cool
Hey! Worth mentioning that on the campaign page to see whether better shipping cost is possible. I don’t have any direction connection to shipping prices or any prices for that matter 🙂
@@RollingSolo haven't totally given up on it yet, but it to me at least seemed dated and perhaps a bit clunky. I will rewatch later to take everything in🙂
Explanations can sometimes make things sound more complicated than they are. Once you have the gameplay loop down it flows! I actually really appreciated the process flow for the combat. Eliminates a lot of questions and helps as a great reference. I like that the reaction roll can have you avoid combat altogether and find different and unique ways to deal with enemies that appear. It’s not a forced combat in all instances like many campaign games.
I am still watching the video at the moment really liking it so far. But I was wondering what is youre point of view about playing more then 2 characters solo?
I prefer two typically but I can see a solo players easily managing a party of four. This one doesn’t feel like managing multiple characters in a party is tough. Combat is where you’d have more options and choices though which isn’t a bad thing!
Yeah me too but I can see the benefit of playing more characters in this game especially with combat. Thanks for youre insights. Glad to hear that playing more then 2 chars is managable 😉
Thank you very much for an other excellent production and the in-depth explanations. You never fail to impress and inform. Up to the combat section, I was considering a pledge, but after seeing this convoluted but uninspired combat; I am out. I simply don't have the masochism for having to slug through this over and over again along a massive campaign. No doubt it will find many admirer, I am just not one of them. Oh well, money saved.
Basically, he showed only two basic attacks in the video, it will be more varied in terms of mages or other abilities you learn, you can combine different styles of fighting for one character, I think this was just a slight "licking" of some basic attacks.
@@Ciprful For me, if the "basic attacks" are allready so high maintenance, I don't really need more processes slapped on top. The more I invest in resolving process steps, the more I expect to get in return. This here is just not my cup of tea, as I prefer different combat systems. I look at it strictly from a full campaign point of view and not just one single encounter.
Hello my friend! Thanks for watching. I hope the preview series helped you see the game in action to decide on it. Been getting a lot of positive feedback on the series. There’s always the opportunity to revisit it in the future too. 😄👍🏼
This is much more open world. There will also be way more options for customizing each of your characters. I personally feel they will both turn out to be great games. Because of this, I plan I getting both. I already backed SoM. Too good to pass up
Very true. This game has a skyrim vast scope feel to it for sure and the freedom of choice and those ripple effects making widespread changes in the game or cutting off paths even.
Any information about the quality of the minis? They have a standee version on Gamefound which I like. Not sure if the minis version is worth the extra $$$$????
I'm not impressed by the mechanics. Looks kinda boring. Random enemies...Old-fashined combat-system. I'll skip this game, but wish all the best for the campaign.
Hey! It might not be for you. This is but a taste of the beginning of the campaign from all aspects. As with all games there's more than meets the eye initially as you go along! I'd recommend also checking out the campaign page/updates/discord and the released prototype rulebook which will show you more too. Cheers!
