My advice to everyone else playing this day 1: spend the first in-game day introducing yourself to the townspeople! It's shorter bc it begins at noon so if you do any farm work you'll likely have to do it all on day 2. Besides, day 2 is when you get your free seeds and tools.

For those unaware, Story of Seasons is basically the Harvest Moon series with a different name due to copyright issues

Not copyright issues. They just decided to go their separate ways and use Xseed as the new NA distributor. Sucks that many fans don't know the difference so they buy HM games as well. When they are vastly inferior.

@@acatani17 Well, Natsume owns the rights to the name Harvest Moon, so he's not really wrong. I'm sure if Marvelous could have held onto the naming rights for their own series, they would have. But Natsume wouldn't allow it.

@@HedgehogHero8 Why? Natsume lost the rights to the Japanese franchise that they were localizing as Harvest Moon, but held onto the name. Meanwhile, Marvelous got the rights to the franchise formerly localized as Harvest Moon, but had to change the localized name. In other words, the games that Natsume is making nowadays are Harvest Moon in name only.

Hate to be the one but if you are planning to buy this game, beware of the long loading time, lack of events, npcs’ character pictures etc. They've said they would fix some of the issues, I would advice wait it out a bit first.

The loading time isn't a problem after 1.03, they patched that up, but yeah, the other stuff is still broken.

Absolutely loving it so far. Exactly what I was looking for. It's not like the old harvest moon games I remember, it's improved on it. I wish I had known about the change years ago. I started with the GameCube HM games and loved them.

I never played Story of Seasons before as in fact this is the first trailer I've ever seen of it but in one trailer I've become very intrigued and will consider getting it next month! Until then I want to do more research on this game to know more about it.

Honestly I think that Stardew Valley definitely takes some things from HM and SOS, but it also improves on the groundwork that those games laid out and helped evolve the farm sim genre

@@haleyf9582 yeah I know the the developers of Stardew took their inspiration from OG HM and bits of AC. I believe also they didn't like the direction Natsume went as well. Some SoS have been hit or miss but still better than New HM. Also they improve on things and add stuff that you can't do in most SoS games/HM and push updates to the base game. I wanna try out Stardew one of these days I know I'll like it, just so many games on my plate right now. I definitely am getting this game after playing FoMT remake.
