Story of the Red Bull Football Empire is a video made in 2021 about the vast football empire owned and developed by Dietrich Mateschitz, the owner of Red Bull company. From Red Bull Salzburg to RB Leipzig, Red Bull owns some of the most exciting football teams in the world in several countries and contribute to the development of some of the best football players in the world such as Erling Haaland.

The intention of the owner of Red Bull, Mr. Dietrich Mateschitz, was never to get involved in the world of traditional sports; his vision was more focused on extreme sports and racing. However, during an event arranged with the committee Organizer of the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Mateschitz was able to see the potential of football as a tool to reach a new audience in a different way. In addition, football would have given the opportunity to do public relations with a new group of international influencers, the football players. From that moment on, Dietrich Mateschitz became involved in the world of football, starting in his native country, with the purchase of SV Austria Salzburg in 2005 and adding more and more football teams over the years. As of today, Red Bull GmbH has clubs in Austria, Germany, United States, Ghana and Brazil.
However, let’s take a step back and start from FC Red Bull Salzburg. In April 2005, Red Bull acquired SV Austria Salzburg, a club in the city where the company is headquartered, so it was not surprising that Red Bull bet on this well-known team. The idea was to give the club a new start, changing most of SV Austria Salzburg’s hallmarks, including the name.
Over the years, the idea of Red Bull in football was polished and it was focused on another way, aiming more to get young, lesser known talent, but that would be profitable for the sports team and sound financially. That’s why FC Red Bull Salzburg have associated themselves with some talented players that are recognized today as international stars such as Takumi Minamino, Sadio Mané, Erling Haaland or, more recently, the Hungarian Dominik Szoboszlai. This approach was rewarded in 2017 when the Austrian club won the UEFA Youth League, the UEFA Champions League of the academies or youth squads.

Salzburg and Leipzig are incredibly important to the football world. I love watching the young talent they put on display. Kind of a shame that none of them stay long enough to create real champions league contenders- especially Leipzig.

Needs to make a video mentioning Red Bull Bragantino from Sao Paulo, Brazil. This team was not expressive at all, and now is competing with most of top teams, and with new players every year. Craziest thing is that they budget is not that high, they don't invest much in players just by the name of them
