so fkn true. I've listened tons of good bands, but none compared to soty. Sometimes people say "why is this band is so underrated", and I can find lots of reasons of why it is. However, with SOTY things are different, I don't really know why this band is so underrated.
I have no respect for these lads anymore, after the way they shunned phil who is the real talent. Since he left they are nothing but a legacy of the band they were with him.
I agree with you, but keep in mind that Phil was involved in a controversy I think it was in St Louis and, according to the band, or at least what he implied, was that Phil wasn't putting in the same effort as before. However, this doesn't make much sense to me. I found it extremely unfair how he was kicked out of the band without even giving him an explanation and without the possibility to enter into a dialogue. I was very upset when Phil was kicked out just as they released their album Wolves and were about to do a tour to promote it and out of nowhere, Adam comes back to the band. I don't know, the real reason why Phil was kicked out was never known. I also remember that Phil, at the time of being kicked out, wrote a post on IG expressing his surprise and sadness for not being in the band anymore, but later deleted it. The band never spoke out and then they said that "in every family there are fights and disagreements" or some crap like that, but to kick out such a valuable member who was there for almost 20 years out of the blue and for no reason whatsoever...very strange. I've even noticed that the band despises him, in a way, because for example in their recent song "2005", in all the clips Phil is nowhere to be seen and he was removed from several publicity posts for their album Wolves. Besides when he was expelled, Ryan immediately left Greek Fire, the band he was in with Phil. I guess we will never know the truth, but this seems to me the worst thing and decision of the band.
