So glad that Axl is still at it!! I mean back in the day his vocals were pure rock n roll, one of the best. He’s still a young man with miles to go. Back in the saddle!
I am lucky to say I saw Guns N’ Roses on the appetite tour at giants stadium. It’s where they filmed the paradise city video. One of the coolest moments of concerts I went to back in the day. Saw some great rock and hairbands then.
Great memories my buddy went to that one of the best days of his life. They were definitely the band I was in college at the time and let me tell you they were our Beatles and they were the one band that was on the level of Van Halen from 7784 they were incredible, the only difference obviously you had a lot of problem with Izzy. You had a drummer they couldn’t get straight with Van Halen was all four and they went from 7784. Guns N’ Roses had some internal problems but boy from 1986 opening the Aerosmith and then 87 8891 user illusion metallica and Guns N’ Roses come on guys That was legendary and he sounded good here and I’ll tell you give Billy Joel credit graduates high school and 69 round and a few bands not doing much in 1972 early 73 and and then we hear the piano man and this guy has performed my whole life. I’m 50 years old and this guy I remember being at a pool party and listening to its only rock ‘n’ roll to me. He was about 29 then and I remember going to stores and seeing his albums come out with Christie Brinkley and all those great ones. He did in the mid 70s and then the 80s and the 90s 2000 and he toured here. We are the man 76 still selling out An absolute legend
Saw them at Wembley stadium, front row all day nearly killed me. But to see them with faith no more, soundgarden and skid row was probably one of the best days of my life, so lucky.
I listened to 3 versions and I would say this showcases Axls voice thr best. Its hard to get a good recording in a big stadium. I used to jam this version back in the MTV days! The best time to grow up!
By whom is it overlooked? And how could it be? That's one of his signature traits. That's like saying Mike McCready is underrated; not by those in the business of rating the greatest axe men.
I have to say I never had these two singing together on my bingo card. I am a fan of both men, despite their different musical styles. Axl looks so damn good, as always, and I'll go to my grave grateful for all his music, the 80s and how he made those years so wonderful. I remember someone saying there is only a stairway to heaven, but a damn highway to hell because of the number of people wanting to go there - so I'm going to hell because that's where all the good times are going to be. See you there. Rock on, we are never too old for rock 'n roll.
@@jaycollector6555, I am a huge GnR fan. I think Axl is awesome, live in concert. Choosing to attend a GnR concert at a good venue & having really good tickets is a great way to experience how awesome Axl still is. I had attended a GnR concert in October 2023, and Axl was fantastic. Everyone in the band were great, too. I do not expect an 80's, or a 90's Axl to show up, because everyone changes in 30+ years, and Axl has also suffered vocal cords damage, yet he is still awesome, live in concert. I still very much love his vocals & I will happily attend more GnR concerts, for as long as GnR will want to keep touring. Also, online recordings are poor quality. Online recordings do not do Axl's vocals any justice. It is unfair to judge his vocals from poor quality online recordings.

You must have access to the good stuff because there are two obvious facts that become quite evident. One, if Joel’s career or his ability to sell out MSG for any length of time depended on his guitar playing his career would have been over before it began. Two, I don’t know who or what you hear but A. Rose sounds like crap. In the early part of his career at least one was able to listen to his vocals without flinching.
I Follow GNR since Rock In Rio 2001, 23 years before Mr. Rose still make me smile and sing like the first time, is very nice to see Axl better and better ... Thank for All MR. Rose !! Thank you Billy Joel !
William Rose and William Joel step on to a stage to perform 2 songs I never would have suspected they would. I probably wouldn't have recognized Axl as I haven't seen him in a long while and saw he had some injuries before. He seems to be moving and singing freely now in fantastic form. I'm sure I got this in my feeds because I listened to most of Use Your Illusion II the other day and because I listen to several of BJ's songs on repeat when I am in the mood. That GNR double disc is still one of the tightest collections of rock music placed on album ever and it blows my mind to think it's around 30 years old now. Thanks also to Paul McCartney for Live and Let Die.
He sounded like a drag queen with a bad voice on highway. I hate it when singers keep pushing when you can’t muster that voice any longer. That’s just life. A for effort.
@@Robert-xw2ob, No one is denying that Axl used to have issues many years ago, but he had worked through the issues & those issues are no longer relevant. Axl is doing great: he has a loving family, his band is tight, happy & very successful, he has a huge fan base who adore him, he has a lot of money, and he is happier & calmer than he has ever been & he treats his fans & band mates with appreciation, respect & love, these days. Axl is amazing. If you do not like him, you do not have to listen.
Axle you were my musical god at a certain age. Guns n Roses was the best band in the world when I was 9-11 years old. Maybe 7-11. But how can he not know his voice is gone. It’s totally shot. Turns out that type of singing and screaming destroys your vocal cords. Any singer with that style has the same issue. But his is the worst of the well known ones from that era. Vince Neil’s voice sounds the same. It’s a terrible shame because Axle had one of the greatest voices in rock history.
Axl sounds better here than I've heard him in recent times, but let's face it, no one with the range he had maintains in through their lifetime. I doubt Freddie Mercury would've maintained his range either. Conversely, Billy's range (or Mick Jagger's) was never as big as that of Axl or Freddie so he's able to sound the same.
If anyone told Axl in the 80s, he would be covering a Paul McCartney song with Billy Joel whilst being morphed into his grandfathers sister, he wouldn't have believe them
So cool to see Billy on the guitar for "Highway to Hell." The only songs of his where he plays guitar that immediately come to mind are "A Matter of Trust" and "We Didn't Start the Fire."
AXL so fkn talented and HOT!! Vibrating with energy!! Willing to get on that highway and would follow him to Hell and back to see him live anywhere any time!!🔥🔥❤🔥❤🔥🔥🔥❤🔥❤🔥
I saw guns and rose's in their prime and probably one of the loudest concert I ever attended and it was great. But for me it's hard watching rock stars late in age.
Excellent I still have an amazing voice he still has an amazing voice and I'm upset when people say he doesn't because he really does and it's not it's not the point that's not the point its history 30 years of what he did he sings really well still and it's you know it's upsetting with people try to say put him down or something they just don't know I mean the history I mean you know I've been listening to them for 30 years he is amazing
I really love and respect both of these guys! And I am also so impressed that Axl is not afraid to showcase the dance moves he learned from watching the Charlie Brown Christmas special
