Totally agreed......shakesperian characters are always internally conflicted and some times they are not even morally correct but still attractive and captivative. Its always hard to choose a side and keep it thorough out the story as they keep on changing or they keep on revealing their other behaviours.

Replace Plot with Story and you'll have it right. Plot is insignificant to Story because it's the big why that hooks the audience. Plot is the action and conflict part, but if your audience doesn't know or care why it's happening your movie will be forgotten quickly

I understand you. This sentence have an aura that is gloomy. There might be hundreds of possibilities. But the one I guess is, the baby never got to wear those shoes because for some sad reason and the person who has knowledge of it, sells it because those shoes are new and not used and more importantly, never connected to the baby emotionally and gain a different meaning.

Watch out for the head and claws. That generally gives away.

Dude don't take this advice. Your screenplay will be weak and forgettable. Stephen King says Story over Plot because Plot is the what. The big chase scenes, the shootouts, the bar fights. Story is the why. Story is your characters desire, goals and motivations. If you don't have characters with strong desires, then it won't matter what happens to them because your viewer won't care. Someone put it like,"It's about the Journey, not the destination." That is VERY wrong. If your destination is trash then your audience will feel cheated. They wanna care about who they are watching, so when the plot points come in we are engaged to see if they succeed or not. Good Luck on your work, but seriously, don't focus on the plot. That will come to you and will change the most. But if you have characters that are relatable with desires and a clear want, your writing will be outstanding.
