I live for press on nails!! 🙌🏻 After getting my nails done at a salon, I agree, I was hardly happy and the cost was not worth it. Plus, press on nail company’s are upping their styles!
My girlfriends and I are all in our 30’s and live alone. Roommates are cool for men since they don’t really have issues but I think it’s harder to find someone to vibe with as a woman. Rent is crazy everywhere and buying a house in this economy is a whole other beast. I’m based and live in LAS. I’ve been single for 6 years. I enjoy having my own space and living alone. Don’t feel bad you’ll figure it out. You just turned 30, enjoy it! Live your life and have fun
I'm 27, I just moved away from renting in Seattle and back home with my mom in a smaller town. My living expenses are a fraction of what they were before plus we get to cook and do more things together! No regrets. I understand wanting to live in a bigger city, although more expensive, it can be way more fun and you're closer to everything.
Hang in there Carrie! I think things are going to start falling into place. 30 is a big milestone but dont let it define you. When i turned 30 i thought i had to be married with kids. My advice would be to enjoy the moment and live up these single years while you have them!

Feeling off too. This was a totally weird summer. Don't stress it. You made a BIG move. It takes time. Totally, Boca or Ft. Lauderdale. Get out of Miami! As to buying, take your time to explore. Yes, renting sucks, BUT, you need time to explore. Florida is a complex market. Look around and compare and contrast. There are high-end areas but lots of nice less-famous, but better value cool neighborhoods directly next to those high-end areas. Explore, talk to friends, colleagues, look at Zillow, other listings, to get the overview, the big picture -- you may end up really liking something unexpected. And also, there is the following: You can rent or buy for your current life, but you can also rent or buy for your future life, you know, where you want to be in three to five years, long term. You'll be fine. Stay calm, deep breaths, be patient with yourself and keep safe!
I’m 27 and I just bought a house- I have to commute to work though! The commute is brutal sometimes, but at least I’m able to live the life I want to and can afford to. Everything will work out as it’s supposed to! You got this!

I think you should look in Miramar. Just across the county line in Broward, only about a half hour from Miami International and 20 minutes from Fort Lauderdale International. It's a really nice area and way more laid back than anything in Dade County. It has everything you need and want there or really close. It's the South Florida lifestyle without the Miami lifestyle. Also think you'd like Sunrise around Sawgrass Mills. If you want to be more on the beach you should check out Hallandale Beach or Lighthouse Point.
I’ve been in Florida since 1997. Went to college in Ft. Lauderdale from Indiana and never went back. You need to give it time and you’ll love it! If you want an area between all the areas, give Davie a look as well as Hollywood or Hallendale Beach. Also, Sunrise is good.
I so wish I would have done this. I wanted to but my family convinced me not to. I’m from Iowa and I tried to move to Tampa with a roommate and it didn’t work out between us and I rushed moving there with not enough money so I went home after 2 weeks. I really hope I can try again soon but it still makes me nervous!!

I lived in Davie when I flew for Delta. FLL was my base but we also flew out of MIA. Just make sure it’s close enough to fly out of the airport that will be your main one cause traffic can be tough. Unless they provide a shuttle for crews, we used to originate out of FLL but the trip ended in MIA and we’d catch the crew van back to the employee parking lot.
Rent is the same here in texas. We have people from California that have been moving here for years and I had a client last week told me they moved here from cali thinking it was cheaper but she said it’s the same cost about maybe a bit more square footage but the tax property was higher here and they can’t afford to live here due to the pay decrease. I was in Miami a month ago and I was just checking out the rent and it’s the same! Actually in texas where the more popular areas like downtown run about 4k a month for a one bedroom.
Oooh I think you would LOVE Fort Lauderdale! Boca is lovely but very expensive to rent. So glad that you landed safely---mechanical issues are a bummer. I missed the kitties in this video. I love them!
I moved to Tampa a few years ago and you will always get seasonal depression in September/October. It gets better end of December when Tampa is in the 60s every day. I go to the west coast every couple of months and I would recommend renting in the boca area

I don’t know if you would love the commute from Boca to MIA, depends how many trips a month and start times. If you like west-Doral up to Sawgrass would be an option but if you like east and beach vibes, Aventorture (lol) up through Las Olas is good. I think you are going to run into most of SFL being $ these days.
I’d love to move to South Florida, I can’t afford it. I live in Hot Springs . I have an apartment hunt video from a couple of years ago. I have several in that area I love, but yes very expensive. Lantana is my favorite apartment.
You need a Real Estate Agent who specializes in Leasing in South Florida. I would live somewhere where houses are more affordable and nice like the Cincinnati suburbs, Indianapolis, Oklahoma City, Minneapolis suburbs, Nashville, etc.

I just know a friend lives in apt outside of ft lauderdale, in sunrise(?) - it’s a little inland from ft laud. Prob somewhat less expensive than ft laud (or miami). It is really hard with everything going up year after year! Good luck

Maybe get a roommate who is a FA? That way you're both away some of the time. I'm over in Naples and wonder if you've been there. On the east coast maybe Delray Beach as it's gotten nicer over the years.
Do not buy now. It will be better in about 5 years. Live in several cities in Florida and enjoy. Sharing a rental is a better option for you. You should save your money. You are home so seldom. Best of luck!!!

I imagine in the career or a commercial flight crew you are going to have at least one harrowing experience. I've heard stories about commercial flights being intercepted by fighter jets. That route from just about any point in North America to Japan you are going to fly very close to the Kamchatka Peninsula. The Russian Air Force loves to scramble fighters to "escort" commercial flights and they can get highly aggressive. It's done as a show of force or to intimidate.
