My husband and I met when I was 14. We lived in different states. My parents didn’t want us to be together because we were so young. We got married at 20. We’ve been married now for 51 years.

This reminds me when my husband asked my dad can he marry me and my dad flat out said NO lol. My husband was so crushed. For the next 3 years my husband worked his butt off to prove to my dad he was right one for me. My husband asked my dad again and in 2015 we got married. I can totally relate to this story lol.

My dad would not say yes, so I moved out and my husband now, moved with me. Then we felt guilty and had to go to the court to get married so we could live (and sleep) with each other. Being a Christian made it so hard for us cause we wanted to do the right thing and do it the right way. I saw myself at some point in your story. The guilt, hiding etc, but I was so determined. I don’t regret my decision one bit. I still feel butterflies in my stomach when I think of my husband.

I also like the fact that how you chose to honor your father and mother and you used the scripture to sustain your ability to do so, and proof that GOD HONORED OBEDIENCE. This is amazing ; my heart is so full of joy to hear of a relationship that was waited upon and affirmed by God, through obedience to his word. So impressive! This is how I have chosen to live my life; to wait on God to bring and affirm the Man He has for me. Thank you for posting this post. God knows I needed to hear a living affirmation of my convictions to stay pure, to not sleep with anybody anybody and to honor HIM as my Father, since my Earthly dad has been dead for a while.
