Oh my Karen I would have been scared as well, luckily my Dobi doesn’t chase anything but maybe a lizard. We have squirrels running around in our backyard and just stands there looking at them. Now our last Sheltie would chase anything that ran, he would chase deer. We would get these big birds that would try to land near a pond we had in our previous home and get our Koi fish, and Ozzie would look up at my hubby waiting for him to say go get them, then he would dash off barking, we had a no fly zone.😂

We had 3 shelties throughout my youth and my grans used to chase crows. Fine with all other birds but she hated crows for some reason 😂😂. Once I met my hubby we got German shepherds, I had a white one when I stayed with my mum and it was the only breed he ever wanted. Fortunately, never had any chasers 🤣

@@kirstymacfarlane1620 My hubby had a German shepherd before we met/married. Growing up we use to watch Lassie on TV., loved that collie she was so smart. After hubby and I got married we were walking past a pet shop and decided to go take a look. I’d never had a dog in my childhood, we couldn’t afford one, my mom was a single parent raising us 3 kids. They had several puppies and one was a Lassie looking pup, I told my hubby awe a Lassie, he told me it was a Sheltie and wouldn’t be as big as a Lassie and it might look like one but was a different breed. Well he bought that Sheltie for me and in our 38 years of marriage that’s the only breed I’ve ever wanted. Dobi is 9 yrs old and our 3rd one, I just love their personality and that little face gets me everytime.🐾❤️

Maybe you could ask your neighbour if they'd be willing to harness one of the cats and you could try some training with Watsons favourite treats? It's surprising how quickly they can change their behaviour.

I agree, they can change quickly in appearance but as we learnt with our friends cat it takes much longer for it to become a habit. I did a dog behaviour course and learnt about that kind of thing there too, it takes a while when they've behaved that way for so long (nearly 10 years). I don't know my neighbours well enough to ask them to regularly meet for training, I'd never ask a stranger to do that. I'd be hesitant to ask a friend tbh as it'll need to be daily or every other day and move slowly. Currently I don't need them too as they sit in the window and I am trying to sit outside and get him to not freak out (taking a long time to calm him down!). It's been weeks and he has slightly reduced his crazy behaviour but not much. Thanks so much though, always worth thinking of things. I'm considering buying a fake cat lol. x

We just lost our cat Alfie, he never got on with our rescue dog at all and always swiped at Benji in the passing even after 4 years, poor Benji just couldn't understand why the cat didn't like him, bless him as he's the friendliest soul..ive noticed Benji looking around for Alfie even though he always got a swipe or hiss from him, he knows he's gone😢. Hopefully Watson and the cats can become friendly neighbours..from afar 😂
