I'm American and I love my country but I sure as hell don't like what's happening to it. I agree with you about other countries. I lived in Europe and the Middle East. I found the Middle East to be very difficult to be in. I saw a lot of poor people while in Turkey. Saudi Arabia is just flat out crazy with how they treat their citizens. I try to explain to some the of these kids in America how good they really have it but most still don't get it. I'm not sure how it is in Lebanon which is where I think you two live. That's if I remember correctly. It boggles my mind that foreigners get it but our very own citizens don't get it.

Women's rights is meant to be this huge, big thing in the States, but it's being hit badly by the insane extremes some are pushing. Trans women (men who transition) now play against biological women in sports - how is this fair? They are biologically men, therefore stronger than woman (in general). That's a huge backward step for equal rights. And rather than exemplify the best a woman can be, they now push sex and smut and debase women, thinking it's "empowerment". Sure, you can do what you like, if you want it, but don't tell me you're a role-model for young girls by stripping and acting like a harlot.
This country needs both of you. American ideals isn't about race, creed, religion or political perspective - it's supposed to be about helping everyone to freely pursue what they believe.

While I understand what Tom is saying and it is true to an extent I would like to note while there is a noisy politically motivated minority pushing the lunacy he sings about most people in the US (I've lived in the US for decades) are peaceful, tolerant, hardworking folks and most of the youngsters are bright, energetic kids with caring parents who will grow into fine adults no doubt. We do have serious political problems because of DC and politicians who hope to profit politically by fomenting division, fear and hate where it doesn't naturally exist (possibly terminal for the country ultimately) but for the most part the American people are not the problem, IMHO.
