I am glad that I came across this channel!! Coming to the content of the video, I agree that Yes! in today's competitive world, we need to increase our skill set so that we can be welcomed with better opportunities.. And unfortunately, most of colleges here are not equipped enough to help students have better exposure.. So in order to have these we must land ourselves in a better college.. Probably to help atleast broaden our concept of knowledge.. Thanks again @ed sharpener for having these discussions on a bigger platform!

Straight from the heart; choose Mtech in programming(CSs dept of IITs) or IT and get placement in these areas. Core electrical, mechanical, etc. doesn't provide lucrative jobs. If you have electrical or mechanical, etc. just go for govt jobs. They are better than private core jobs. Debasis sir love for you!

@@syedtalha6483 just start learning coding, if u r in Mtech u have 2 years. Companies like qualcomm and mediatek pays well but software companies pay best. And best part is, in IITs, software companies are open to all. So if u can answer basic questions of coding, u might get selected for best role in software company

So my case, I chose iit dhanabd msc maths and computing because in this growing i wanted to have some knowledge about computers and combine it with mathematics in resesrch in emerging fields like data science. I was getting indore and hyderabad but those two were simply pure mathematics which did not intrest me. Dhanbad course had a mix of both. This is my story why i chosed branch over better iit,and i happy with this. But your point was very valid.

Sir huge respect to you. Your story is similar like my story. I joined an EPC based company just after graduation like you. I was happy then core job in mechanical, good salary but later on I realised I can't limit myself to those P&IDs, MR, PR kind of work. I left my job and prepared for Gate to go for higher studies and learn in some more areas ( though I always wanted to go for higher studies). Now I have got M.tech in Sustainable energy at IIT Kanpur. I am much happy now as it is an interdisciplinary branch hopefully I would learn some other areas as well apart from mechanical. Would like to know your suggestions if you can give from your experience.

Hi Hashim, if you are planning for PhD plan it within 2 years of the M-Tech. Also prepare a coding language or some skills like python and R. All the best! Good to hear from you!

Sir if I do AGRICULTURAL AND FOOD ENGG. FROM IIT KHARAGPUR(DUAL DEGREE) (AS I HAVE JUST GOT THAT TYPE OF RANK IN JEE ADVANCE UNFORTUNATELY), WILL I BE ABLE TO GO FOR MTECH IN CSE IN IIT BOMBAY by giving GATE CSE? So sir according to you if someone is versatile he should choose better college for better placement (mostly non core). I disagree because MTech is a specialized study and should only be done if someone has interest in some field. It is not MBA ki bas naukri ke liye Kar rhe degree. Agar kisi ko sirf paise ke liye hi study karni toh please MTech ya MS na Kare, MBA jaise course Kare jidhar aap zada paise Kama sakte hai. MTech karke financially kush nhi reh sakta koi bhi unless you are from CSE.

Kind of a disheartening for me, as I cancelled my IIT Madras Aerospace MS seat over IIT Hyderabad Thermal, my main reason to give gate was to get into Renewable energy and thought Thermal would be a better choice over Aerospace even when Madras is miles ahead of Hyderabad. Have I made a wrong choice?

Hello Sir, I have got ISM IIT Dhanbad for mtech in " Electrical Engineering" which is new branch introduced by institute by this year and they stopped the specialized mtech course like power system and Power Electronics. They have merged the PS and PE and made new branch. I live in Amravati Maharashtra and connectivity to Dhanbad from my home is not good or say very poor. I don't have any idea of mtech placements in IIT ISM Dhanbad. It is a 5th round, only accept or reject options are there. Or should I go for spot round ???? Or accept ISM dhanbad but new course, placements ?? Or leave COAP21 and try for NIT warangal?? I am in too much trouble please help me with this.

Historically after some fight people did get the fees back, but you should be ready for worst case

I am totally confused with Information Security in Rourkela vs CSE in Jaipur what to choose... If in some job requirement there it written as M.tech in CSE then am I eligible in that with Information Security? Or I have to be purely a CSE. Can you please suggest what to choose?....

well some (Not all) companies will write only CSE. but if you contact T n P cell, and ask companies to allow Students from your specialisation, shouldnt be a problem. so go for info security

You do have chance in NITs, so if you dont like the branch, no point accepting it

yes it is! NIT colleges are bot bad, look to upgrade. If your college wasnt as good as you would like, then NIT is an upgrade for sure

Hello Bhaiya, I applied only in IIT Guwahati Mechanical Dept through COAP. Till the 4th round, I haven't received any offer. If I don't receive anything on the 5th round as well, then is there any chance for me in special rounds???

You can certainly wait for special rounds but chances might be bleak. Now apply in ccmt wherever you can and give yourself a good backup
