Great video! As a trilogy alternative to the peach (if you don’t want to spend top $) then I can’t recommend the Westside Tursas enough. And the fact that it comes in tournament, vip, moonshine, and air plastics, there is a Tursas for everyone
Bro, great vid as usual. I very much appreciate you posting content when you are having a rough day. We all have rough days and you working/grinding through helps me mentally when my trash day shows up which is sooo much worse than yours.
I just started bagging a Sunny Peach in my Comet slot. It has a much wider rim than most 4/5/-2/1 discs, Comet included, which I love. Robbie - props for posting this despite the frustration. I bet if someone handed you one of the discs and told you it was a straight mid, you would have laced more shots. 4 speed with -2 turn can play head games.
Love this video! Great to see some of these alternatives, but really nice to see you post shots where you weren’t having best time of it. Nothing worse than when us amateurs go out, have a terrible day and then go watch YT vids of just perfect shot after perfect shot. It helps our confidence to see that even the pros can have an off day
I throw the peach and it feels like the perfect straight flyer for me (I’m always throwing on a bit of hyzer) I have one with a nadgt stamp on it I got used! Love that disc!
My 4 speed of choice is the Sol. I have a very slow arm so the Sol isn't too understandable for me. I also saw someone mention the Tursas (even though it's a 5 speed), and I love that disc too.
Clash makes some what I think are fantastic discs. But no one I know including myself throws em... When you live somewhere where every course has a water feature, throwing a $23-28 disc suddenly add to the pressure lol.
I do bag a Peach. But I find I rarely actually pull it out of the bag. I generally prefer either my PA-5 or my Uplink. I am excited to try the Detour though. Side note, I do see a lot of comments for the Comet. It too is a great disc but its definitely one of those discs that you'll either love or hate as soon as you pick it up. I tried bagging one for a while but I just always hated the handfeel and could never dial in its release.
Doing good, these highs of 0 in Wisconsin with 1foot of snow on ground are just brutal for golf. I'm putting my brains out inside lol. I'm living through you right now.
Loved Cooldaddyslickbreeze, when he was working for Dynamic. Disc Golf Answer Man, was amazing. Started watching that, when I first got into disc golf.
The Origin is my favorite understable mid. It never fights out of an anhyzer line if needed. Def more understable than the numbers state but not flippy.
I had a comet in this slot, then tried a peach and thats what is in the bag now. The plastic and hand feel is better on the peach, for me! And they have similar flights...
Additional video idea would be a plastics comparison series discussing hand feel and flight differences. For example, Zone in all available plastics, Toro in all available plastics, Envy in all available plastics, etc. With no local disc stores that sell anything other than innova and the rare trilogy, I get hung up at online checkout when trying to decide on a plastic.
Narrowing down mid ranges has always been an issue for me. Mids are the discs i throw the most. The stratus has and always will be my understable option, like really understable. Even though i know people love to hate it. Then i have a Roc, an M4, The Zone if youd call that a mid ( i do), the Archive, Wasp and the Buzzz. Last year i even had the mako3 in there but that was the first one i took out. Problem is i love all of these discs. I think the wasp is on the thinnest ice because its Similar to the archive and i really like the archive. My goal is to get it down to 4 mids.
The bounty was my go to midrange when I first started playing. Went dead straight for me. Still in the bag but for tunnel shots or shots I want to finish to the right.
Would like to see you compare the zone vs the Jarn. I am currently bagging a Zone as my go-to approach disc. And I'm interested in picking up a Jarn. However, flight numbers are very similar. Would like to know if the extra point 5 would give me a little more distance. And also your opinion on if both discs are different enough to be bagged together. Or if they basically take up the same slot. Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work.
I find the Zone a hair more overstable than the Jarn. The Jarn feels so much better in the hands though. I prefer the Prodigy A2 to both of them by a mile. Both the Zone and Jarn are close enough to not need to bag them together. Pick whichever feels better in the hand.
Gotta give the tsa mana a chance brother! I feel like it’s a disc that would suit your game so well. Workably understable, a bit faster, smaller diameter, goes far, has dope art… super under-known disc. I mean it is on the newer side.. but dang no one even knows about it
Clash Discs premium plastic is the best in the game. It looks and feels like Innova Star but the grip is as good as Gstar without Gstar softness. Perfect. I wish that Clash Discs basic plastic would be better.
I love the peach and it’s a disc I’ve been throwing for a bit but for some reason that disc gets stuck in trees so much more than any other disc I’ve thrown.
Robbie, compare the RPM Kea to the Zone. In my humble opinion it's superior to the MVP Entropy and the Zone. Hands down. Feels alot like a Pig but a good bit more overstable like an Entropy.
I'd also recommend looking a speed below or up too. I bag a Peach but I find I almost never pull it out of the bag. I tend to always go for my PA-5 (3 speed) or Uplink (5 speed) instead.
