My EFI swapped bridgeport 12a is finally running and on the street!! Thanks for all the videos @radpotential. Your entire channel has been instrumental in me learning how to work on a rotary. Thank you
The sound of this beast tickles the hairs in my ears. I can't help but wonder what is the weight distribution now that it's no longer a front mid engine?
It probably won't win, but I would put this exact engine in a Lotus 7/Caterham 7 with the headers exiting the body on the passenger side going into a side exhaust that ends just before the rear wheel with a T-56 mag and a quick change rear diff so I can easily swap between a drag final drive ratio and a track final drive. It would be glorious.
I have seen few dual engines cars made now what I was thinking was the Gallardo doesnt have a carbon chassis. a Gallardo with a blown engine cost so much less . so a 13b on the front a 4 rotor on the back and be able to work those 2 engine together and separately :P
Years ahead in to the future, when almost every car is electric, that car will stand out form the rest. I will like to see a video of peoples reaction, whether is good or bad, we will enjoy it.
4 rotor NSX, or if you really want to fuck with people, a Mazda Premacy. Keeps it in the family, too! Love the sound of those pipes, it's hard to believe that's "only" 5 thousand RPM. It already makes glorious noises, can't wait to hear it at full chat!
It's not the most insane car to put it in, but I think it would be so incredibly cool to put one of these in a 1967 Mazda Cosmo Sport. It would be so awesome to put the pinnacle of rotary technology with Mazda's first ever rotary vehicle, one that likely helped save Mazda and gave us incredible cars like the FD3S RX-7 and 787B.
Loudest car I've heard in person was an old First Gen RX7 SCCA ITA car, was in a enclosed shop/garage...loud but a terrible note that was not pleasant at all. This 4 Rotor sounds amazing.
That reminds me of what it sounded like at the car meet after the pipe came off during DGRR. Mean sounds. What will it sound like at the redline I wonder. You said on Patreon you're past the breakin miles... what are we at in this video? 6K? Edit: and then I get to the part in the video where you talk about it. Can't wait.
From experience I can tell you my 12 a with an open header was one of the loudest cars on earth, I remember when I first finished the install taking it for a drive late at night with my dad in the passenger seat, we were in utter awe of how load and obnoxious it was, and of course I was revving the shit out of it, in my opinion wouldn't be able to drive it for very long like that you would need ear plugs.
I always wanted to ( this is for the t-shirt (comment)), to put a rotary in a vw, they make a trans axle adaptor , a sand rail , a old school Beatle , a dune buggy , a micro bus. Mostly a dune buggy ( like Steve McQueen ) the 1st Tomas Crown affair movie. I think it would be fairly easy. Tony ... '81 '90 rx7 owner not a poser
yo mr.rad i know youve been around these cars for a minute im swapping to weber on my stockport 12a was wondering if you had a good base jetting size setup?
I own a 4 rotor, just wondering if it’s a 4 into 1 collector? I did a 4 into 2 into 1 first time round and it sounded off… Changed it, now it’s sounds great.
