Before I retired in 2015, and, in past years, I had a 3000 watt inverter mounted on the driver side on the underside of the bed (bed was built from Freightliner to raise up for storage). After about a year and a half the inverter died and I was told that happened because it didn't have adequate ventilation; I see you mount YOUR inverters [as does everyone else] in a 'box' as well. What is your take on ventialting the inverter? Love your videos, Eric! Take care! ( 2/24/2019 Sunday 10:48amCST ~Jim in Houston, Texas~ )
Lol, what do you think this one was done for? Looks? It was done in an over the road truck. And there is no approval needed. As long as it meets the minimum requirements for a DOT sleeper, it approved.
Do you really think that's the only thing I used to seal the opening? It has a rubber seal that is made of truck sleepers. The carpet is just to cover it up.
Jim Fritz i get a box truck like the one that you are showing on the video and I need a sleeper to be done as soon as possible would you email me the info? Gmuhirwe@gmail.com
Then go make another one then. I have a business to run. You may have built one but was it safe and legal? Did it have the proper seal? Could it pass a DOT safety inspection? Found it survive in a accident? Because that one will, or did Because since this video the truck has been totaled out fully loaded and nothing can throw the sleeper. So have a good day!!
After meeting dot regulations for sleeping quarter will it still be within size requirements for loads??? I thought the trailer size had to be either 26’ or 24’?? I’m in Cincinnati and looking to add this to a 2005 gmc kodiak c7500
