I'm doing a pirates save and finding it impossible to put good money into development because I have so many untradable big contracts in Reynolds, Keller, Hayes.
@@kevinmcdowell11 you just have to find cheeky ways to trade for cash. I'll regularly claim guys on the waiver wire, just whatever Quad-A relievers, and there's usually a team that'll give $1 million or even $2 million for them if you include some 19 year old, low potential warm body. Do that 5 times, and you've got $10 million extra to put toward the Dev Budget
I don’t think you need a limit on trades, I think you just need to have feel. Don’t make 15 trades a season but if you wanna make 7 or so, I think that’s fine.
Jacob Cozart being a stud in this save is super based, guy has been mashing against Georgia this weekend. Also that's not Victor Victor Mesa that's Victor Mesa Jr., very important distinction that
8:54 Amazingly, that’s not actually Victor Victor Mesa, that’s his younger brother Victor Mesa Jr. The Marlins signed BOTH of them irl, and even though Victor Victor had the higher pedigree coming out of Cuba (he signed for the entire bonus pool iirc), it’s Victor Jr. who’s played much better (currently playing in Triple-A at age 22)
Hey Bailey, when you're doing the development lab, players only improve their ratings if their potential is higher than their current rating. At the start, I saw Josh Mears and DL Hall being sent to the lab when they've already reached their potential. Players very rarely improve their potential ratings in the lab, so you're better off only sending prospects who have room to grow their current ratings.
Exception to this is physical training and conditioning which improves both stamina and injury proneness, which is important for fragile players and starters who are getting older.
@@FoolishBailey basically dev lab result can be: one thumb up (current rating goes up) two thumbs up (current + potential goes up) neutral (nothing happens) one thumbs down (current and potential can go down?)
I’ve had the cy young winner goal early on in saves a couple times. My solutions, at those points in time? One was Rick Porcello and another was Madbum. Lol both were horrible but they got the goal completed. I just used them in long relief/mop-up avoid high leverage.
I suck at OOTP so I put ticket prices low and get good attendance. Usually I make more money that way anyway. You actually know how to play. Lower your tickets prices and get more fans. Trust me. 12000 fans a game is not enough even with pathetic fan loyalty.
That 6 for 1 trade holy moly why... Detmers alone was 90% as good as the guy you traded for. And he was nearly 10 years younger. Trading Neal on top of that is absolute malpractice, he could be an elite catcher. In return you got a guy who is 32 coming off a .3 WAR season
