My theory for this ore is that it was probably supposed to be a part of the recently added questline for the volcano, but was scrapped in favor of the rescue mission. It would make sense, since a "Gather X number of ores" quest would make sense for the mines there, and as the original planned quest.
Looks like mechanics of some sort of Capture the Flag type game. That duel guy in the Savannah is new to me, so this could be their attempt at adding gamemodes.
I suppose the next update will include the ice caves, that you can clip into the place(holder) using a hammer and bear mount, located behind the main house at the mountains. Either that or the junkyard...
Remember the miners dialogue in the volcano? The one where there is a hole i think he has a story about an ore i cant quite remember since it been 5 months since i played last time

i saw it under the jail cell by paul. for whatever reason i wanted to glitch into the cell with a bear mount (im on mobile so the wall glitch he did in the vid doesnt work for me) and i still havent pulled the lever so ill glitch through with a bear but sometime it throws me under the map and i saw that ore there. i investigated more and was gliding through it but i couldnt pick it up (that was like a 2 or 3 weeks ago
@@JayTheSleepyArtistsince they been secretly expanding volcano, and cremains being fire themed. he may just be in the volcano content update. also the game anniv is soon, we may expect something on feb
