I use to have a neighbor behind my house and she had a two story house. Well she called me one day swearing that there were people with guns crawling on my roof. She said every time she 👀 out her windows they would all drop down and belly crawl to hide from her. It didn’t matter how many times I told her nobody was on my roof. She made me start doubting myself even though I new better lol I had to walk outside with her on the phone and tell her to lay off whatever it was she was doing because nobody was on my roof. She ended up telling me later that she had been smoking crystal meth. That is pure poison I’ll never understand why people like that stuff. Now anytime I hear a story where they are calling people and not making sense and seeing people after them oh and they keep hanging up and calling back my mind goes straight to this. Before my experience with her I would think it was some huge mystery. Now I don’t and I feel so sorry for their families.
I’m prescribed Desoxyn (Methamphetamine HCL) for ADHD, been on it since I was 5 . I’m married with kids and working on my phd. It’s only when you stay awake for 2 weeks and stop eating that them belly crawlers start comin out of the woods 🫣
I had an upstairs neighbor who was having domestic issues with her boyfriend, or "baby daddy" as they call it now. She slipped a note under my door in a childish scrawl, but what I could make out was that she wanted me to keep an eye on her boyfriend, because she was counting the miles on their car, and they were more than where he said he was going. I had just moved in! I didn't want any part of this nonsense. I did notify the land lady. On one occasion she knocked on my door and said she thinks "Danny" was in the basement of the building. He wasn't. Another time I came home from work, the police were outside talking to the woman, and when I asked her what was going on, she said "Danny has been in the house." The cop gave me a funny look, and I heard him say, "How well do you know your neighbors?" Well, this paranoia went on for some time, until she moved out.
@@vladimirputindreadlockrast812 Wow that’s enough to drive you crazy. I also think I would be afraid of her loosing her mind completely one day and possibly turn on me. I tell you there’s almost nothing worse than a crazy neighbor.
@@meeganyoung8058 The day she kicked her boyfriend out, she was literally throwing his furniture out the 2nd story window. One time there was a tornado warning, and she went around knocking on everybody's doors to tell them they had to hole up in the basement, with her and her extended family, which included a mentally disabled 16 year old girl. Well, in the basement (and it was quite the storm for 1/2 hour), she said she had to go to the bathroom. What do they do? They gave her a bucket, and she peed in it right then and there. I later told my girlfriend, and she said she would rather have died in her own apartment than shelter with these nuts.
Just a reminder, I'm not diagnosing anybody in this video; only speculating about what could be happening when a succession of incoherent telephone calls happens like this.
What always bugged me about this case is his family saying they had begged to police to obtain search warrants to search the area on the property next to the rode share his truck was stopped. The land owner had refused to allow anyone on his land after the first days. Then to hear the bones were there for all these years later , makes you ponder if he hadn’t been just a few feet from where they were allowed to search.
And landowners don’t want to be responsible if someone got hurt on their property. Owners can be sued even if those injured in a fall are trespassing. I wouldn’t want to risk losing everything either. Not a lawyer myself but I’m not sure that getting signatures on a hold harmless document would be enough protection. Doubtful anyone would even sign it. What if someone fell down an unknown abandoned well?
Searchers sign documents before they search that it’s at their own risk. I do understand landowners not wanting a search , they could have stipulated law enforcement only search , that way if someone falls in a well it’s covered. This land looked to me as if there could have very well been rattlesnakes and the likes on there.
I saw a statement from the family that the land he was found on was not owned locally and as soon as they asked to search, they were given permission. These land owners were very cooperative but had never heard of the case.
People on meth are sometimes extremely paranoid and any small thing makes them think someone is 'after' them. You can't reason with them when they're like that. It's too bad Brandon didn't go toward his brother when he saw him.
my man, go look at his phone call. you can hear multiple gunshots and multiple people speaking. bryan even says "they shot the first guy" as a gunshot can be heard in the background
Defiantly one of the mysterious disappearances that happened. While remains have been found, there’s no official confirmation at the moment that they’re Brandon’s, though with all likelihood, it seems the remains are Brandon’s which only begs the question of what exactly happened to him from the time of the phone call and to when the remains were found. Thank you for the video Dr. Grande, your analysis is always appreciated. Take care!
The remains were skeletal, after 10 years in the West Texas elements. The skull fragments were found around 100 feet from where the clothing was first located, probably due to animal activity. His family is fully satisfied that it is him.
What “exactly” happened to him you ask? I’ll answer it for you. Drugs. Drugs are “exactly” what happened to him. While Hollywood glamorizes drug use with shows like “Breaking Bad”, they seldom show the realities of using drugs. So sad.😢
Dear Dr Grande, at the end of a challenging week and and a particularly brutal day, the joy of your channel is beyond words. Real intellectual sustenance to sooth my tortured intellect and a superbly excellent dry sense of humor to sooth my frazzled nerves. I'm certain that your reliably brilliant analysis to which you add the correct portion of humor is a balsam to most of your followers. Many thanks with profound gratitude.
This is such a heartbreaking case and unfortunately, completely avoidable. On another note, my Patreon subscription is very much worth it. There are many interesting videos in there, I certainly recommend. 🙌🏼 Thank you for covering this case, Dr. Grande.❤
I've listened to that 911 call so many times! This is one of the most memorable missing persons cases for me, up there with Maura Murray, the "Springfield Three", and Brianna Maitland.
I started following Brandon’s case right when he went missing. I just gave birth to my youngest child. I remember keep thinking that he was going to be found soon and I can’t believe it been 10 years.
I really enjoy your insight into all these cases Dr. Grande. I know you're not diagnosing them but you offer a lot of clarity. Absolutely enjoy your channel! 🙂
I’m curious to know how long he was up. When I messed with that stuff wayyyy back in the 00s in my 20s, I’d stay up for 3 days and thought I saw ninjas in the trees.
So tragic. Those poor children. Thanks again for your analysis. Can you analyze Dylan Mulvaney and the feud with the Daily Wire cast? I can’t get enough of your perspective and this conflict contains many issues. Can’t wait for your next video (no matter what it is)
I can. Dylan Mulvaney is a mentally ill attention addict & the healthy minded people over at The Daily Wire refuse to entertain his delusions. Research Dylan’s past from early childhood on.
Those of us who watch a large volume of true crime are probably familiar with this trope - young male driving alone at night stops his vehicle in a weird place, makes some semi-coherent phone calls, and disappears. A history of substance use/misuse is often involved. I don't have any grand pronouncements about this, just noting there's about enough of this type of incident that it sounds like a pattern.
glad youre covering this one. he ran into some bad actors and was killed by them. im impressed - ive followed just about everything about this case for 6 years and you still managed to find info i had never b4. unlikely his killers will ever be caught. but a positive id for the family at least gives them some closure. RIP BML. 👍👍
A story of my brother, he kept telling me someone is after him trying to kill him. I told him he's delusional and making up stories. Turns out I was right. He was taking Ecstacy which i never knew. Ones he stopped he was himself again.
It was confirmed to be Brandon long ago. As of like six months ago, the family had not been informed of the CoD. It was continuing to be investigated, which is...odd. The remains were located on private property. From the explanation, it appears that it was owned by a foreign individual or a corporate entity. In either case, permission could not attained to search the property, and there was not reason to specifically believe that he was on the property for the purposes of obtaining a warrant. Once ownership was determined and permission was received, it was searched. It had never been previously searched, nor had that claim been made.
@Dr. Todd Grande I'm so confused on Brandon's remains if you could please shine light on that? I only keep seeing presumed from Feb 2022. Seems like long enough for confirmation? Tia! Hope you are well.
Good evening, Dr. Grande! It appears that Brandon was using drugs again. He became delusional, started calling 911 and his brother and ran away from his truck. He probably died from exposure in the wilderness. However, the skeletal remains were never definitely linked to him. Thanks for sharing.
What do you think actually killed him, though? He didn't likley die from hypothermia because this happened in the month of August. What else do you think killed him?
Good Evening Dr. Grande! I like the way you tell serious stories and weave funny stuff in as a way to engage us and keep the mood light. Somehow, you manage to find the time to sometimes respond to our comments. You truly give a heart! ❤️🕊️🤗🌵
I remember this case. I do believe foul play was involved. In the 911 call, he said he was being chased and that he was injured; he was bleeding if I remember correctly. I think he also said someone was trying to shoot him. I realize that meth (or the lack of sleep from using meth) causes hallucinations however, he was not using immediately prior to this. There are other factors that are suspicious such as his wife's behavior and misconduct within the police department.
Suddenly starting up after not using for a while is the worst time. The body doesn't have the tolerance it had before but the brain is telling you to use as much or more as you used to do. He likely wayyyy overdosed.
No dude was hind walking around in the woods fell and cracked his melon. Leave this poor family alone. He had a wife and four kids. you detective work sucks and and as an armchair, sleuth detective work looking for something it’s not there get a life lady.
I'm glad they were able to bring him home and bury him. I think he has a stress-induced heart attack, otherwise he'd have been able to get himself out of the bush.
I was more so thinking it was familiar to the brandon swanson case. The calling and confusion after they had different issues with their vehicles and called people
When people relapse sometimes they try to go back to the amount they last used. Because their bodies are cleaner it’s too much. I’ve noticed ods happen when they try to take the larger amounts.
He also called back later and said “Mfer, where is your pride?” to his brother. He was definitely tweaking…I used to think people were in the trees and that I could see them in the TV reflection 😳😂
@@SuperWhatapain it was, glad I left that stupid shiz behind at age 20 or no telling where I’d be. Most people I knew while living that life are dead or in prison.
I’m pretty sure what happened is that he was on meth during this time of the phone calls simply got confused disoriented whatever where did you want me to use stumbled into the wildness around him and died of exposure or something else? There is another story very similar to this about two teenagers that used methamphetamine at a party together and thought they were being chased by Indians in a blizzard
Either he was hallucinating that there were people after him, or those people were actually there, and the paranoia made him think they were after him. That’s assuming he was under the influence at the time, though. Very sad, either way. And the 911 call was haunting. You can hear the panic in his voice.
Hello Dr. Grande! Thank you for your videos. I enjoy them by very much. I was watching a dateline show a few days ago about a guy named Chris Cruz. Could you please do a video on his case. I have a cabin on spider lake and would not mind hearing your speculation on him or a situation like his?. Thank you!!)
Aside: Thank you for another interesting video. I'm curious. Do you practice (work with clients), research or write (academia/industry)? If so, how has managing social media impacted your work? I apologize if this is a topic you've already addressed and understand if you'd prefer not to discuss it. All the best!
@@feelthejoy ... true. I read that he allegedly did an online course in counseling and those are his only qualifications. Please feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken.
He was a licenced therapist and also taught at college. He originally started this channel as a teaching channel for his students. He has retired from seeing clients now but not sure if he still teaches.
@@feelthejoy He is licensed. I believe the only real discrepancy has been that he doesn't have his doctorate. A competing RU-vid channel has even made a video about it, because he believes the "Dr." part is misleading. Personally, I feel that I have seen enough to know that Dr. Grande absolutely knows what he's talking about. He is not diagnosing or claiming to diagnose, and his takes seem to be far more open-minded and well-rounded than many other people who actually charge money for this sort of compacted knowledge. There are an abundance of other RU-vidrs out there who teach their subject of choice without having all, or sometimes any, of the college credentials. The guy who made the video (the one that I've seen) is a good doctor. I believe his background is in Criminal Psychology (and POSSIBLY Sociology... although, I can't recall). I'm not sure if anything ever happened between these two- but, lucky for us, we don't have to choose sides. Bottom line is: Use discernment. Fact-check whenever you find yourself in a state of disbelief. (general form of "you") Read the "About" section of the page, and any therapist, scientist, medical professional, etc., will typically list their credentials. 🙂
I am a little confused about the facts of this case? About what really happened to Brandon Lawson. If the case occurred as you described it certainly is very sad given he was on the straight and narrow once again, a tough road cause to find yourself on again!!! So many variables that you cannot remember! Hope he was able to work it out at the end and save himself again!!!!!!!!
He’s dead, he got back on the dope, tweaked out, and probably died of exposure. Lots of people relapse, he had just started a new job with long hours and wanted to stay up.
_*Hello my dear friend. You're right in the last 12months it's been one thing over and over. Before that we lived a charmed life (touch wood ). Drug use alters the users brain chemistry, which usually causes deep depression when the addict tries to go sober. Many former addicts struggle with depression for years, if not for the rest of their lives. Think of Robin Williams for one example.
Very sad case! Sadly, I think any time someone messes with drugs like meth, they're dooming their chance for any kind of promising future. Really loved your caring, insightful take on this case, Dr. Grande! Like how you noted that this poor guy worked 60 hours a week and had four children he was probably trying to take care of.
Very interesting case and well covered. I am petitioning for your assistance to give more awareness to a fascinating case. I was hoping you could analyze the Shanquella Robinson case. There has still not been an arrest and this case needs all the coverage it can get to bring her murderers to justice. Bonus. It’s a heck of a story. All kinds of twists and turns. But why have the guilty parties not been arrested when authorities know who they are? What is the story behind that? Is it Mexico or the US? Sorry for changing the topic but I hope you see this and consider it. Her family would appreciate any coverage. Thanks 🙏
My opinion is Brandon disappeared on his on to start over because of 401k plan was gone or maybe because of drug problems he was killed by drug dealers who wanted his money. That probably why his 401K was withdrawal to pay them off. That is just my theory
I believe ppl were chasing him it’s clear he tried calling many ppl several times. That’s showing he truly felt fearful. Sadly Brandon was not helped by all the ppl he tried get him help.
Just seen my brother on meth again the other day, took him about 3 hrs to attach a couple tow straps together... Then when he finally fell asleep after a few days, he woke up yelling and making odd noises as if he were in a dillusional state. We finally carefully fully woke him. That drug is one bad thing. Meth and alcohol seem to mess ppl up more than anything else, from what I've seen. I wonder how much of it is the drug itself compared to the lack of sleep it creates? The combination sure can be scary.
Dr. Grande, the funny thing is, at some point in the past I remember hearing about this story and recall thinking, "Wow, that was such a strange story!". Haha. After your breakdown here, it really is fairly cut and dry as to what happened... And not as strange as I remembered, lol Thanks, Doc!
I am going to presume Brandon was under the influence of methampetamine and probably suffered from a lack of sleep. This is a very dangerous combination. I am all to aware of the problems that come with abusing meth. Users will stay awake for extended periods of time while being wired. They become hostile, paranoid and delusional which sounds exactly like what Brandon was suffering from. Another problem with meth is users sweat profusely and become extremely dehydrated because they don't drink any water. Dehydration can also cause psychotic behavior, but I am wondering if Brandon could have died from dehydration. Just a thought. Meth was such a bad problem here in the California desert back in the 1980s and early 1990s. I watched it take down a lot of people I grew up with. People lost homes, jobs, marriages, and some lost their lives. I realize this story took place much later and in another state. Still makes me sad.
Factory stimulants over a long time, create hallucinations. This was everywhere on this case. Style inflicted hallucinations. Poor judgements everywhere. Therefore self inflicted death.
What the hell is a 'factory stimulant'? Do you mean 'synthetic'? Stimulants decrease the need for sleep but that's the product of irresponsible re-dosing, not a common side effect. Also, cocaine is a naturally occurring psychoactive substance that can cause 'stimulant psychosis'. Do you always talk out of your ass or just on YT?
3/23/23 Another case of not sharing information, between le and 911 calls. So many tragedies have happened, due to this huge problem! Brandon sounds like he was paranoid, using drugs. Imo, wouldn’t of been calling so many people as well as 911 if he really was being chased. Love ❤️ to his Family and Friends!
Gosh and for so long I thought the poor guy was attacked and taken somewhere. I had no clue that authorities never searched private land until later. I wonder how many cases out there, seem so strange and mysterious; but was really just someone who got hooked on drugs and then OD'd or died due to falling or exposure. Truly sad and frustrating.
Hello Dr Grande! Another excellent analysis-the best on RU-vid! No one else breaks down the factors for and against each theory, or adds your touch of dry wit. Could you please please please review the case of Meghan Marohn?
I know sometimes you ask if this a case that we'd like to see followed up on to mention it in the comments. I really recently saw something about Joshua Jenkins. I had possibly that could be added to your list. I did have trouble finding some information.ty
