After quite a bit of research, this is what I discovered to be the sound. I am including a great video by another channel that demonstrates how a natural gas pipe line purge from a distance could cause such a disturbance in the surrounding area. My hike and camera were pointed in the right direction of the local compressor station; it was just a few miles away and out of view. Scooby Doo Mystery solved! On a side note, I ask a question on my blog. I have been researching this feverishly for months. I watched your video until you mentioned natural Gas lines. I looked up pipeline blowdown and my mind immediately went at ease. The sound is identical in tone and length and sure enough a Gas plant was a few miles away. Now I can take my tin foil hat off because I thought it was camouflaged airships.
I will add to this that I stumbled on to this trying to identify the exact same sound I am hearing in central New Jersey. And wouldn’t you know I live rather close to the gas refineries. On a side note I had heard a different sound last year, more of a steam leak type of sound, which also traced back to a venting process.
I listened to the pipe venting, and while it's similar, I would need more convincing... I wonder if you could ask the station employees about the date in question? To my ears, the sound you recorded distinctly sounds as if its origin is deep underground. As I understand acoustics, if it were from underground, it could bounce off layers of different temperature air above you, and spread out horizontally, but with silent patches between the bounce zig zags. Thus explaining some neighbors not hearing anything. So, based on what you present here, and from other videos, I would guess it is what you said first thing, an underground cavern opening.
Last nite here in Texas at 2am I heard what sounded like a jet approaching. It took a couple of minutes before it was overhead, and it got louder the closer it got. By the time I heard it above me it was a roar. The loudest sound I have ever heard. It stayed above me for a minute or so, then moved on past. The sound lasted 10 or more minutes. No jet takes that long to fly anywhere. I heard it for a while as it moved away. No idea what it was but it scared me a little. Never heard anything like it.
This is happening in Darwin Australia now for the past two weeks. I came across this video because we have so many Jets flying over us everyday at the moment. I heard the sound twice now in the early hours of the morning but it lasts long after the jets are gone and the jets that fly over a super loud.
Same thing happened to me and my boyfriend. But heard it like down the street the first time then behind us a few month later. But the weird thing is we immediately felt paranoid. Like horribly paranoid like something was watch and getting closer.
I’ve had this happen a couple of times here in Florida, it’s usually at night, and usually cloudy. Just happened just now. Does the same thing, sounds like it’s approaching, gets loud, then fades off. Longer than a jet flight for sure!
I've been hearing this Las Vegas, NV daily for five years now along with a rumble that makes me feel like we're having an earthquake. It is very strange. Most people pay no attention to it, which blows my mind.
i heard it go DIRECLY OVE MY HEAD IN SW VEGAS FOOT HILLS it is not venting natural gas it came from airport flew directly over me and then went off over the blue diamons hills , it is cloaked craft

The same thing just happened to me today in Greenville around 10:00am. I thought it was something flying above us, but I saw nothing in the sky. The sound continued for several minutes and then stopped abruptly.
I just heard the exact same noise in Placerville CA. About 1030 at night. Lasted about 10 min paused for a couple mins then went on again for 5 to 10 mins. Really odd noise and pretty loud.
I’m in Tulsa Oklahoma and heard this morning. Went on and on! We are tornado alley, but there was no tornadoes no rain no thunder and also thought it was a huge thousands of fleets of airplanes going over ! Shaking my windows for 30 minutes and was very scary! I’m used to tornadoes and not scared but this was different ! I used to think it was the new high pressure natural gas lines, but my gut is telling me it's the sounds of mantle & crust friction. Directionality is concerning as our weakened magnetosphere cannot protect is from a number of different solar (& space) phenomena...& the global electric circuit is already highly overcharged.
I came across this video while trying to identify a sound I heard today, May 6, 2024, between 8:30 AM and the current time as I write this comment at 9:51 AM. Although not as loud, the sound is unmistakably emanating from the sky. I took a walk around the block, and the sound remained constant, never shifting. It vaguely resembles the distant hum of a car on an open road or the roar of a jet in the sky, albeit lower, constant, and stationary. Despite the constant stream of passing planes and cars, the sound persists. I spend a lot of time outdoors, and this is unlike anything I've heard here before. While there are periodic cicadas emerging, this sound is distinctly different from that.
We ve heard similar noises in the UK and it was down one end of the street sounding like it was coming from the ocean. So strange it went on for ages and happened a few times.

A friend and I heard the same thing today / 3/30/22 / in Toledo, Ohio! It was overcast and had just sprinkled but there was no thunder, no actual wind. It sounded like jets , which we have around here, but the sound did not move overhead as jets do, it was more stationary and it did sound like roaring ….! A word I used as we listened! It lasted several minutes then finally faded away. Very different sound for sure!

I'm in a residential Texas neighborhood and I literally just heard this LOUD whooshing sound but the wind wasn't blowing. It sounded like it was right on top of me then it moved away and into the distance. No trains, planes or helicopters anywhere nearby. It was almost like the wind sounds from a tornado but we have just a normal breeze and this video is very similar to the sound!

Literally just heard this over my home a half an hour ago! The sound stopped instantly too! Only thing I could come up with is if they were burning off extra gas or something with the gas wells around our area! Idk though!
Anyone here of South Africa? I was hanging my laundry out on our balcony, when I head this scraping noise. Like dragging metal over the road but it was 100 times louder. I asked my son if he can hear it too and he said yes, he can. He wasn't taking any notice of it, because we spoke about it previously. If he perhaps heard these sounds. I live near a railway station but it's not a train sound, neither airplanes. To me it sounds like someone is dragging a very heavy piece of metal over the road and is not going anywhere with it. Sometimes I think I am the only one who can hear it because no-one is aware of it. Luckily my son heard it too, so I know it's not my imagination.
This sound happened tonight in my town in north Tx. The whole town heard it and this is exactly what it sounded like. Just before we heard it dogs started barking. Including our dog in the house. At 1st I thought it was thunder because we've been having storms daily here but it lasted too long. My husband went outside as the noise stopped. Everyone on Facebook is talking about it. It didn't last near this long. After it stopped it started again for a couple of seconds. It scared me.

Its a hypersonic military jet. It flies at 100,000 ft . It would be impossible to see,but the sound travels forever. The sound is heard all over the world with everyone cementing it sounds the same. Especially in the Uk,Ca,Tx, and eastern seaboard. It flies out of S4 area 51.
we heard a sound like a jet lift up to the sky above our roof. we thought someone had accident on the street bec it was less than a minute. when we went outside check our roof and the street but no one was there. iit was quarantine time so everyone was still inside. this was last oct 2021. location philippines, no pipe lines in our country. no factory near us. we are in mountain area. no ocean nearby too.. it was just so weird to hear that loud bang of noise above our second story roof house.
I live near Norfolk Virginia and have heard this sound twice in the last 2 months in the early morning hours. Doesn't last too long about 15 to 25 minutes.
Oelwein iowa, heard that deep rumble in the sky around 10-11am today, typically it's a dull rumble today it was more in your face (deeper and you could feel the vibrations from it) more so then usual. Any thoughts?
I've just heard a really loud plane sound that was stationary for about 10 minutes, it was 7 a.m in Jeddah, Saudia Arabia. At first, I actually waited to see the plane that will appear from that direction, but as I waited, I noticed that the sound wasn't changing or moving at all. I tried to look to the sky in that direction to see what's the source of the sound but I couldn't cuz our house wall is in that direction. It's so weird because it's the same sound and vibration of a plane but it was loud and stationary. I finally went inside the house and convinced myself it was the cars noise, and that's why I don't know how it ended. P.s: it wasn't the sound of cars at all.
That was a purge, it was a pressure test, what your hearing is a JET engine used to pressurize the pipes full of water. They do those test several times a year.
Is it just me, or did it sound like he was eating Doretos or some kind of fried chips? Also, it was crunch, crunch, crunch reguardless whether he was walking on dirt, green grass, tan grass, or anything else. I heard a rumbling in my mother's house, went outside and still heard it, just more quietly. My mother didn't hear it, but she's 88. So there's that.

I heard this exact noise/sound last week (August 2023) in Federal Heights, Adams Unincorporated, Colorado. As described in this video, it lasted an hour, and sounded like the rumble of jets flying over, and the sound became weaker as time passed. I disagree that it came from a pas pipe line purge.
I heard this sound except it sounded more distant. I told people that it sounded like a deep Cavern opening up that had been sealed or whooshing and even howling sometimes. I heard it louder and mostly between 2017 an 2019 , but I thought maybe it was correlated or in conjunction with the solar eclipse because a lot of strange things were happening at the same time. I feel like I have listened to much now or thought about it too much. It seems as though distant sounds are different to me now and I'm not sure if that is psychological from hearing the sound for so long and trying to convince people and now wondering if I was crazy the whole time because it just kind of slowly faded away. I would also like to say that it is almost like a feeling more than a sound even though I could audibly hear it.
My mom lives in Kentucky and for the last three weeks has been hearing what sounds like a rumbling. She said it sounds like thunder but last longer and sometimes sounds like a rumbling like a train.
What part of Kentucky you living in? I live in Louisville but I've been hearing the Trumpet & Booming Sounds for over 20+ years in 3 different residencies & I'm used to both type of sounds. But do you hear the Trumpet like sounds????
I've been watching the sky since 2011 and noticed the planes crossing the skies. In 2019 around oct they then decided to spray large X 's in the sky over London while I was working on the roof and that was a sign of thing to come in march 2020!
It’s like a roaring jet sounding frequency what make it strange is that it sound similar to a jet but you definitely can distinguish the difference it’s like a spacey waving sound it always leaves and come back and that’s exactly the sound you recorded it happens so frequently I’m in marrero Louisiana sometimes when I get in a deep meditation the sound becomes more apparent it happens so much sometimes through out the day that you second guess what’s going on
I was looking for an answer about the same sound. I live in Belgium and a woke up in the early morning hearing the same sound it was first like a fleet of jets and then it was like coming and going. Very strange. I've hearing this at least 2 times just today and about a month ago
I have heard this sound in St Paul MN. Amongst other strange sounds coming from the sky. Also heard something that sounded like an explosion underground. It shook my entire apt building and triggered car alarms. There were no reports of above ground explosions. I heard no emergency sirens either.
Heard something very similar 3 am this morning. Difference is it came in bursts, not constant. Near an airport, but I don't think it was a plane for 20 minutes. Also sound seemed to come from the opposite direction. There is a major oil refinery about 5 miles in that direction, but it just seemed too loud to be that. I worked very close to that refinery for 15 years and never experienced that.
I live in NJ in Ocean County. I have been hearing this noise on and off for last hour and a half. It’s very loud sounds like a plane and a loud rumble. It’s not windy out. Then it all of a sudden stops. It’s a clear night I can see the stars but no planes. We have a military air base about five miles away but it doesn’t take that long for the planes to cross over our neighborhood. The sound is like nothing I have ever heard in the past. It’s quite frightening wish I knew what it was.
i just heard this in greenville rhode island, looked outside and saw nothing in the sky but it sounded like a fleet of jets directly above for a good couple minutes
@Jesse, Check for any natural gas compressor stations near by within a 3 - 10 mile radius. Check out the video link in pinned comments, and see if this is the sound, but miles away, reverbing off hillsides and such.
Sorry. Didn't realize the footsteps carried that much on the camera when I was filming. Next time they purge the natural gas lines in the area and I'm home, I'll stay stationary.
I heard this sound this morning!!! 9/25/21 Went on for 15 mins or so.... exactly this!! Super loud but not moving just got weaker...so glad I found this video!! PS...OK I read comments and looked up pipeline theory in my neighborhood (which is purely residential?) But you just might be right. Going to call city on Monday regarding work on local pipeline. The weird thing is the location listed is completely different direction from where it sounded like it was coming from??.... report findings next week. ☺️
I heard a similar sound when we were vacationing in a cabin in east Texas. As I went closer (away from cabin)it seemed to be further away. Sounds like a large flow of water system. Didn't see anything like water though there's a lake less than a mile. Could not figure it out. That was June 2020. I have been back but not stayed in that same cabin or side of the resort.

I heard these noises in 2013 Sweden. First day it was trumpet, metal grinding, bird chirping. The next day, it was a sound of jet machines flying in the air, but no aeroplanes in sight. What can we make of this really?
Hello, I happened to research this on Google, and your video came up and it sounds exactly like what we heard tonight. I have heard it before. But tonight it’s extremely loud. Same sound as yours. We’re in Liverpool, NY. Upstate NY, where it’s currently snowing, but snowfall isn’t loud! Sounds like loud rushing air in the sky. Drives me crazy.
Vancouver island canada. I been hearing it for two days now. Low pitch very loud rumbling almost like huge airplanes but there is no planes and it doesnt like have the dopler effect to it it sounds like stationary.
I’m woken up to this sound and often kept awake for days on end in Wales UK. It’s usually followed by an annoying low frequency humming/rummnling sound that vibrates my home and the ground in the surrounding areas. I’ve heard it in other locations around Wales too since 2012

I heard this same sound 3 days ago, That lasted all late aft and most of the night, then again yesterday. though it sounded a bit quieter or farther away, I also thought at first it was a plane accelerating. The sound is steady, no increase in volume. My daughter tried to make me think i was hearing noise from a main hyway a few blocks away. In 20 years have never heard any noises from that hyway. Ontario Canada.
Same noise here this afternoon for a couple of hours in Lake Havasu City AZ. The sky was covered in massive chem trails. This happened also a couple of years ago during a monsoon

Here by the Ellsworth Airforce base in south Dakota usa this sound is louder and going on for 7yrs now. I think it sounds like wut a stargate turning circles wud sounds like. It will go off and on all night sometimes 🧐
heard it today in wichita kansas, 1pm and lasted for less then 2 minutes, why are the gas companies not easing our minds with a simple answer? I tend to find most common occurrences are not being explained for lack of awareness.. why cant everyone hear it?
Gas, natural or not, should not make that noise, I've lived near a processing plant for crude oil, and they'd often have a few gas pipes that would burn off excess gas from the oil, and it's never made that noise, the noise should be a hum/cracking sound, not that
On many occasions,particularly early in the morning around 3am, I wake up to a very similar sound. It sounds like jets in the distance,but I don’t see anything the sky tonight except stars. Perhaps it’s a Skyquake. But do they happen that often? I’d sure like to know what I’m hearing!

I've heard this, several years ago, tho. In the area of upstate NY I lived in at the time, I had a few crazy things happen. I was a night owl, so it was prob btw 12 and 2am. I had gone out on the balcony to smoke. I all of a sudden heard a rushing wind noise that was just like ur experience, and at the time I remember thinking it sounded like a gas valve being opened, then closed, then opened then closed...like pressurized air. At the time I think I probably just chalked it up to a tool shop or something. A few years later, I became aware of the unexplained sounds from the sky phenomena, also called sky trumpets. One video I watched was a dead ringer for what I had heard, reminding me of the incident. The more I thought about it, the more it didn't seem natural. I had lived in a somewhat rural, low population town. There were literally zero commercial businesses or companies in atleast a 3 or 4 mile radius around my location. If I had heard of something coming from some sort of company or plant, then I would've heard it before this incident. As loud as it was tho, it would've had to be on the next street over from me! Like less than a quarter mile away...also, i know there's a video I watched 4or5 yrs ago, of a frantic woman's 911 call she made, thinking a tornado had to be on the ground. There was no break to the noise, and at its loudest, u could swear that it had dropped on her house and stayed there. Tornados don't act this way and she said that she thought it was because of how quiet it was when it started, and then got louder and louder. This was happening over a fairly long period of time, and then when it finally let up, it was gone almost instantly. U may want to look for her video if possible, cuz it's the exact same sound as yours. Another note: if ur aware of Stephen King, the author, he did a story/TV movie, many many moons ago, called the Langoliers. Not his best work, as I am a Shining fan among others. But I suggest u looking into The Langoliers movie as well, not becuz I m trying to sell it lol, but I think u will find some interesting similarities with ur experience here, as well.
It’s 28th September 2022 and I am in London about 1:15am there was the exactly same sound and it’s been 30 minutes now and also slight noise in the sky 😮 I recorded it aswell and it’s the same sound very loud at one point
Fascinating! Do you mind my asking how far away the next hill” is? Half mile? One mile? Several miles? I’m trying to get a sense of just how localized the sounds were. Also, that natural gas theory is interesting. If a high pressure relief valve lifted on a huge gas line it could possibly be heard for quite a distance. Some high pressure gas/steam systems have banks of reliefs. They pop open singularly or in groups depending on how much pressure they’ve designed to relieve. It’s designed to protect the main line pressure within the design parameters.
@Casual Observer. I am on the hill and the compressor station is in the valley below about 3 miles away. I asked a home a few weeks ago located less than a mile away from the station if they heard anything that day, and they said they not only did, but saw the gas venting to the sky from the station down the road.
around a 11..to 11 15 pm heard loud noises like airplane flying to low or loud wind..kinda scared me this happen on 5.17.22.it is now 1158pm n i have not heard no mre noise.very strange but it did sound like the 1 in the video.this happen in Michigan
