Gas prices just jumped 10 cents a gallon here, and my wife and I joked this morning about me commuting 16 miles on bike if it goes much higher. We are currently at $3.30 a gallon. We are already driving less. So, good thing I am learning bike maintenance.
I am new to your channel. Your message in this video rings so true with me. I am not an off-grid homesteader, however the condition of the environment and our relationship with it are very important to my wife and myself. Just like you when I go to the recycling center, I become frustrated with the things I see being disposed of. We have become such a throwaway society.

Huh? You need a sticker for the scrap yard? Pretty crazy. In Ohio I can get the best quality NOT buying NEW !! I buy almost everything from local auctions. Personally my bike was made 46 year’s ago it is a 3 speed schwinn
Mark, in N. Idaho we pay for garbage service in our property taxes. We have to drive our own garbage to the refuse center. The county mails us a new window sticker for our vehicle each year. We get 2 stickers for 2 vehicles. You can only take one truck load of waste in each day, 2 if you own 2 pickups and each has a sticker. Keep your bike, they don't make them like the old Schwinns any more. I am going to eventually restore my Dad's Schwinn; he bought in the early 60's?, it was one of the 1st 10 speeds on the market.
