It's amazing, that probably 1000 people have rummaged around that old house, and you are the only one that found the musket barrel hiding in plain sight

We just dug around an old log cabin from the early 1800s and dug so much random stuff - car parts, rusty bits, old hammers, etc. Enough to fill 5 5 gallon buckets and all we found was a thimble and a Dandy button worth mentioning. So I so totally feel you my man. LOL I think I lost 3 lbs from digging today so at least got that :) LOL Hope you are enjoying WV. I'm from Logan (coal country). I'm related to Devil Anse Hatfield and the McCoys also LOL.

I don't think the doors etc.. are reproduced, I have an M37 which has the benefit of more stockpiled parts. I'm pretty sure you would have to see what Vintage Power Wagons has in their used stock for body parts.

Another good adventure guys, I’ll probably bring both my AtMax and Apex out this weekend. That power wagon was neat as well. We still use those in the fire service. We have 2 that are active brush trucks and are in pristine condition. They literally can climb and comb through any terrain over our modern trucks.

Saw this Dodge Power Wagon type around the Air Base at Tuy Hoa where our HQ for the 101st was. The Air Force had that type. I was there only a few times but I remembered how cool the truck looked. Amazed I remembered this part of the bad movie I was in called " The adventures of a reluctant Draftee " filmed in the Central Highlands Republic of South Vietnam MMCLXVI.

Those compacts are all over a huge WWII era dump. In the summer of 1941 the Honolulu municipal incinerator broke down, so all the trash was taken past Makaha & burnt. I even dug up a small 14kt wedding ring, a friend eyeballed a Walking Liberty on the surface. During the War years if you cleaned out Auntie's old room & rented to a war worker for a good rate. Honolulu was an oversized honky-tonk town "For the duration" so a lot of careless loss? "Wartime" Coke bottles are a common find. It covers acres and gets fifteen feet in places. Metal detectors are not recommended, all sorts of machine shop scrap.

My brother has restored 6 model A's and T's so far. I can't remember the models but one of them was a Torpedo and believe you me, they didn't look half as good as that Dodge. He sold one of them to a guy in England for $86,000.00 and one for $65,000.00. I don't know about the other ones but he will only use original parts, no finagling of anything.

That gun barrel in the fireplace was something else Chigg, and here we thought our generation were the inventor's of up-cycling. We've got nothin' on those folks. Thanks for another fine adventure in the weeds with Todd. It seems like there's nothing like the West Virginia brush for swiping your accoutrements. It has to be annoying to him to spend so much time looking for his tools. I hope he found some relics, seems like the barrel was a good one for you. I hope you figure out and tell us what gun it came from, and hope you can return to investigate under the floor, and the rattlesnakes haven't holed up under it for the winter.
