He ssked me in 2014 what song that he didnt play at my concert out if his songs would i have liked to hear. I said Stranger in the Sky snd he just looked at me in surprise. 😂 I also asked Philly to see if he'd play it years before so maybe she had asked him previously at the Dallas show and he remembered 😂
I swear I listen to this youtube video all the time because I downloaded it to my computer and when I played this today from my friend's computer that guitar riff appeared from nowhere. That guitar riff is not there in the version I have at home and I can't find my version anywhere else. Creeeeeeeeepy.
Err-- it's been two years, but I have to say, my version I ripped many years ago DOES have the guitar rift and then today I happened to think about this song while at work and I was SO tripped out because the guitar rift wasn't there. And now I'm listening to the SAME VIDEO while at home and it's there again. Speaker issue, maybe? Weird!
this song is so sad. thank you for your explanation - now i just realized that it really could be about someone who doesn't want to live. i heard other explanation - it could be conversation with God. maybe someone has one's doubt about life and life after death, someone is depressed - i don't know. but i read - God's words are verse, subject's words - chorus. many explanation are good, it's beauty of songs. @pocketsfullofnothing I'm not sure about it's meaning. But personally I think it's about someone wanting to die. He talks about the parting gifts and 'find the god before he finds you first'. Resort in paradise(RIP?). 'War with me, myself and I' I'm heading for the stranger in the sky'. It sounds like someone who is sick of the world and who wants to believe that there does exist a paradise and afterlife and it is not make believe and he is headed for that place. Beautiful.

I spend my time trying to find things I like and talk about them with people who enjoy them as well - instead of picking fights and focusing on what I don't like... haha yeah at first i didn't like it. then i was going through mraz songs i hadn't heard.. heard it again.. absolutely didn't like it.. then i heard it for the third time.. remembering it was bad.. and then now.. i love it. :p dunno it just grows on you.. same thing happened with dynamo of volition =] hopefully it grows on you as well

In my honest opinion, I don't like this song. This is the only Jason Mraz song I actually don't like! Don't shout at me, we're all entitled to a opinion. Is there anyone else who shares the same view? MESSAGE ME! :D
I guess its the only Jason Mraz song that's about suicide. He's not known for writing deppressive kind of songs. If I only saw the lyrics, I'd probably say it was written by Radiohead.

Jason Mraz is amazing, his lyrics are so powerful and touching, his music has changed my life. He has so much insigh and his outlook towards life is inspirational. He is by far my favourite artist live aswell, him and Toca balance eachother out so well. Keep it up Jason :) thanks for putting this song up Sowhattt
Can't stop listening to this song since I discovered it 3 days ago. Jason M. never fails to disappoint, I don't think there's a single song I've heard from him which I dislike. He's a musical genius and God! what a voice. I love this song so much...it sounds alot like the Beattles and John Lennon's voice...
