Winona Ryders facial expressions are normal, if you know her as a person/ actor she always makes faces like this, she's awkward like that but I love her.
Wow. This comments section sucks. First of all, he clarified that his speech wasn't political. It was about how we treat each other on a daily basis. Human to human. Secondly, he was wasn't saying to literally punch people in the face. It was simply a reference to his character. And lastly, these are HIS thoughts, HIS feelings. They have NO impact on your life. He has every right to voice his opinions the same way you do. You don't have to agree, but that's his right as a human being. You cannot be angry at his words then turn around and complain about him with hateful comments. All you do is prove your hypocrisy. If you can be purposefully cruel and cry "freedom of speech", well hate to break it to ya, he gets that same courtesy.
Damn you woke! He's right, society should be kept out of politics. Take away the vote for anyone who dares confuse me two. Repeal all the civil-rights laws, politics and society are totally separate! It isn't like he was pandering to an audience that doesn't like daddy Donald or using the same wording for baddies as most of the left uses to describe Trump or directly referencing a hot buzz subject of punching NAZIs. Free speech isn't a human right, if it is it's the most disregarded right ever. They don't have it in Europe, but yeah no human rights there. Free speech ends at a call to action. I don't see what he says as a call to action, I just think he's re-re. But I surely could see the point of others who thought it might be. But I'm glad he clarified he meant societal violence, not political, then it would literally be a call to terrorism... But hey, I'm just a stupid lolbertarian and I see any comparison between NAZIs (right-wing socialists) and Bernie Sanders' fans (left Socialists) as a distinction without a difference. Neither are to be punched, both get the bird flipped at them tho.
Martin Soukup That's not what I said. I said you can't be angry at his speech if you're just going to villify him and claim freedom of speech as a way to say horrible things about him. It's hypocrisy. He can say what he wants, same as you can say what you want. But you can't be mad at him for saying what he wants if you get to do it to. You don't have to like it or agree with it and you can be angry at the context, but you can't say he doesn't have the right to say the way he feels. I would never say people have to agree or disagree. But he's given the same courtesy as everyone else. His words, his feelings, his opinion. Same as you have yours. You just can't be mad he has a different one.
yawn... all actors are sooo excellent LOL... everyone is soooo good LOL... and the speech was him just shouting which shouting is what people who say little want to evoke reactions to compensate for their weak ideas.
Rick Dangerous Or maybe he IS a good actor who felt emotional and so raised his voice while saying something he believed in, such as actor can portray emotions and situations to which people can easily relate to and it can help them overcome certain situations they're in. It was a beautiful speech
Honestly (I know I'm late) but this video's title is literally HIS REACTION TO IT. He didn't even see her reaction at the time this was filmed, so why would they label it like that?
I love the haters whining and crying about a guy who uses his freedom of speech (is that not still in the American constitution?) to passionately stand up for the outcasts. Love will always win!
it irked me at first until I heard the rest of what he said, "with soul and with love". It was a metaphor, he didn't actually mean a physical punch in the face.
What exactly is "LOLOLOLOLOLOL?" Why not say LMFAO? It gets the point across more clearly and sounds less... psychotic. As for his comment about punching people; you should try actually listening to what he says, in school we learnt this neat thing called a 'metaphor' wherein a word is used to symbolize something else. He followed up the punch in the face comment with, "and we will do it with soul and heart and love". Get it now?
I don´t get it either! Maybe people just like to be angry. That speech was awesome and the part about punch in the face was a metaphor.Oh, and the part about hunt monsters is a metaphor too! Monsters doesn´t exist!
The anger comes from his leftist speech which is a hidden call to arms against conservatives and the entire Trump establishment. You have to look for the clues, which are well hidden in metaphors. People call Trump a monster or a nazi, and you hear him talking about hunting monsters and punching people in the face. A common call to arms among the left is to punch a nazi in the face. Among that he's standing on the shoulders of the disenfranchised and the outcasts, verbally aligning himself with those types of people who stand against Donald Trump and the conservative side of the country. The entire speech reeks of intolerance and self righteous virtue signaling and you can see the same tactics repeated by many other leftist political figures in an attempt to silence the other voices and opposition with a glass shell of smug superiority.
I love Winona, yea... stay away from the politics, we come for ENTERTAINMENT and politics has NEVER been entertaining!! Winona cracks me up!! I love her!!
The only SEMI BRAVE one was the guy he referred to saying that he did NOT want him to present that speech.... and they "beat him into submission" which is what the LEFT DOES.... you can't have a counter idea you are not allowed... it's so perfect what he said LOL.... "someone in the group has a different opinion.... get him!!!!" LOLOLOLOLOL
Seriously, what's wrong with the comments! it boggles my mind that people on the internet can be this immature, and I've seen some pretty dumb things. He made a nice speech, and even if you don't think it was well suited for the award they received, that's no reason to feel the need to express your anger in such a way. He's a kind man, and a great actor. I personally have nothing but respect for him, and don't assume things, when mentioning that he would punch people, he was making a cheeky refrence to the role he plays as Hopper. Remember that even if he may seem like a big tough guy, which he is, he has feelings too. Sorry about that rant, I just love David, and to see so many people putting him in such a horrible light gets on my nerves, and there is no excuses that could possibly give a good reasoning for it.
I don't feel like this was really political but rather more of a reference to the show. I think he did this for comical reason. The whole "punch people in the face" was in reference to Hopper as a character. Don't think he litterally meant it. People who watch the show will get it. P.S. I am a republican.
No. He was parroting woke talking points. Listen to the language he chose. It’s a speech that is 100% framed with the lens of intersectionality (wokeism).
I didn't know what strange things was till I found it on Netflix and I love it and got to know the characters and I had seen this video prior to that and after watching stranger thing and then seeing this, Winona's reaction makes it that much funnier 😂😂
Thank you Nicole Barbone for clearing that up , I thought he was angry about the ban. Didn't realize it was his show he was angry about. The HAG awards still pretentious, as are most award shows especially now that everyday they have some new offense to bleat about. Wait for the SCOTUS pick, the bleating will be loud and indignant.
Name calling "freaks", threats of violence...hollywood is going in a new direction lol. Really liked the show , good job on the acting! What a nice glimpse into 1983!
The stupid articles that try to lie saying wynona acted this way "because she couldn't hear" PUH.. LEEZE (He was yelling, and she was being restrained!)
she looks like she was having sensory overload..davids yelling, the lights , and uproar of the audience would have me shook to..god he's so intense looool
So when Trump said he'll punch someone in the face, they said it was violent. But when Hollywood says they'll punch someone in the face its worthy of a standing ovation.
We all came here to watch a stranger things related video and enjoy it but everyone brings it down because of what someone said. Why can’t we just enjoy the vid and Winona’s expressions? Sorry if I sound rude I just wish people didn’t care so much anymore about something someone says.
I think she was being sarcastic-reacting to his speech. The only thing stranger than Winona's expression during the original video is this man's speech.
Just Google Translate it
I thought his speech was really funny, I didn't see anything mean or violent about it. I saw many comments against the speech that were violent, such has "I hope he'll get shot" or "he doesn't deserve to be an actor". People, if the speech upset you, it's no reason to stop watching the show, you're boycotting a show with tilted young actors because you can't tell the difference between actor and character. Je suis d'accord, le thème de son discours était la solidarité et il l'a dit avec conviction et j'ai trouvé ça très beau (I agree, his speech was about solidarity and he said it with heart and I thought it was very beautiful)
People honestly don't get the obvious parallel in "punching monsters" and the whole "punching Nazis" bullshit? And by "Nazis", they mean anyone left of Bernie, that doesn't completely toe the party line? A completely childish, violent mindset in where "I don't agree with you, so I have every right to assault you". Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing. Calling for violence... Hypocritical at best, fascism at worst. I had so much respect for the character, and stupidly thought bc of the wonderful portrayal, he was pulling his own feelings, personality, and similarity into his work. How foolish. Just like De Niro, I'm disgusting and disappointed.
Loves the microphone doesn't he? Acts similar to how Ian Somerhaulder always did when he was interviewed with the Vampire Diaries cast. Shame the others didn't get much chance to talk (or any chance to talk at the awards speech)
