Strangest Place To Find A Vehicle Underwater Searching For Missing Person!

Have y’all done any diving/searches in Lake Lanier in Gainesville/Buford, Georgia? I live in Gainesville and Lake Lanier was built with houses, trees, race tracks, etc. under water. Diving is dangerous in many areas. A few years ago, during a drought, a racetrack under water at one of the public parks was left on dry land. We went out and actually sat in some of the concrete stands. There was a car motor that was uncovered. Thank y’all for what you do to bring closure to many families.

It's crazy ro think that there might be a missing person or persons, in a car that no body knew about. It took another missing person to find it. And the cops are like, oh well that's too bad. And the tow truck guy! "You ain't making me pull this car" A good wrench would've pulled the damned thing out.

The toe truck driver almost acted like it was his first day on the job and didn't know what he was doing. But I think in actuality he was just confused as to why his dispatch would even send him out on a call like that. As for the police I don't know what to say except they were kind of evasive in some of their explanations and answers. Too many of these stories of people suffering from dementia and alzhamier and out driving alone and come up missing.

They should have called k&k collision / towing in Liberty center. Easy peasy for them!

Maybe things will go easier if you announce to the local cops you are in the area and if you find a vehicle you will let them know, and then tell them what is needed..? Brilliant job you guys are doing 👏❤️

Willys Overland very old. They were a car company built jeeps ww2 and into the 60s . My great grandfather worked for them starting in 1913 . Just to give you an idea of how old .

why can't they let you sign a waiver not holding them responsible for anything that would happen to you. when you dive a lake or river or whatever. it would make a lot more sense. ive only seen adventures with purpose do it ONCE with a land owner to search a lake or a pond.

River diving and finding guns or swag bags after bank roberry. Your children must be growing so fast school and plenty of mum and dad time love to all xxxxxx

The Overland stack is what is left of the historical Willys Overland plant. Factory for Willys Jeeps. Used in WWII, etc.

You guys work so hard, to locate vehicles underwater, dive on them to verify and get the plate, and call the authorities to report them and consult on pertinent details, offer services to the tow company to rig the vehicles to pull the vehicles, and explain to responding authorities that the area isnt a accident location, all the windows are up and intact, and there is no place that this vehicle could have come into the water, unless it was foul play. They have the tag number now, and they need to dive it and pull it, and check for any missing people that may have any reason to be connected to this vehicle. I mean if it isnt stolen, and nobody reported it, then maybe they have a missing person that could have gotten mixed up with this car or the owner of this car, or something. Someone needs to to their job on this one because there is no good reason for there to be a car in the water right there, and there is one! Hopefully someone is intelligent enough to investigate this further in the ways i mentioned, and its not just being swept under the rug! thanks guys for at least you doing your jobs, as thankless as it is!

It's sad though to know that you both contact the police department, inform them of your findings and then they don't want to do anything about it right then. There could be someone in the car who knows. All windows up hum. You both did a GREAT JOB.

Why sometimes does it seem like the police are bothered when u call them there's only been a few of them most of the agencies are great and thankful that you offer to help ,just seemed like the officers and the tow truck guy seemed kinda like they just didn't want to deal with it ... Another great job. This wrecker driver is right out of central casting.

That is by the old Jeep plant. Willys Overland is what it was originally. I lived right by there in the late 80's until about 2000. There are several neighborhoods in that area also. It's a shame that officials didn't seem very interested in pulling the vehicle out. I'm surprised with the water there being so shallow that it was never seen before, especially with all of the newer construction around it and the obvious newer addition of the rock/broken concrete along the embankment. Even I-75 that runs along that stretch of the river has had major upgrades in the past decade.
