The fan death superstition can be very frustrating in Korea when old people in particular believe it to be true and freak out when people sleep with a fan on and with the door and windows closed. You hear all these crazy things like that the fan blades cut the oxygen molecules in half haha. Companies and TV shows and the news all cater to it which makes it worse even though logically most people know it's not true.

That's weird because I thought it was only a cut-out of the area just below the eyes, down to the chin. I never even noticed the eyes. I just assumed they were Lincoln's eyes.

In Korea, that fan myth is because they would have trouble with power outages back in the day, so they spread a rumor to make people turn off their fans at night. :) Source: I'm Korean. xD
