You know, when I showed this video to my grandparents, it shocked me. My grandparents first of all, don’t like classical music at all, and they proclaim that they can’t withstand the vibrations the piano strings made. As a piano player myself, I obviously have to change their mindsets to make life go on smoother, so, one day I saw this cover of the Rite of Spring. And please notice that there’s 3 elders sitting less than approximately 2 ft from Aaron, and I took this as proof that elders can withstand loud piano sounds, especially towards the ending at the Sacrifice Dance. The response from them is saying that the elders are half deaf, that’s why they can stand it. BUT I KNOW IT MUST NOT BE TRUE, otherwise the elders won’t go to the concert anymore, amirite?

Wow. I’ve got to say, I didn’t think this could ever be played on the piano, and yet, here it is. Are there like timpani in this piano model? I’m absolutely stunned at how you managed to pull that effect off. I’m not a pianist by any means. I wish I had your piano and composition skills. Excellent arrangement. EDIT: OMG. That glorification of the chosen one (AKA the T-Rex) was so POWERFUL! You look like a T-Rex pounding on that piano. I’m absolutely amazed. 😵 OH! And that dance macabre at the end. Such a wonderful execution! (See what I did there?) Loved the entrance and that final blow. UH. I wish I would have been there. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

I love how as an orchestral piece, the Rite of Spring is still eerie, but it's given another dimension when it's performed on piano: it's jarring, loud, alarming, unnatural, and I think that's why I think this is such a good idea. Even though ROS isn't meant as a piano piece, it's still really well done and has the same strange, agitating quality as when an orchestra performs it.
@AaronPetitPiano

Could NOT have said it better. That's actually the main reason it did it- to bring that new dimension. :) Fazioli piano helped!!

Thank you very much! I wouldn't have thought it was possible two years before this recording. So sometimes we can't know our limits until we try them out. :) Oh and yes- It's a TOUGH industry. I think the largest audience I ever played for was 400 people. And that was only twice. Much more common to have less than 100 people listening. I can't exactly call up Carnegie hall and ask them to give a recital there. haha. Perhaps one day. :)
