An excellent recording of a spectacular piece, by two unbelievable talents. Imagine that this 4-hand arrangement was first performed by Stravinsky himself, with the other two hands supplied by none other than Claude Debussy, in 1912. Still, I refuse to think that they could have done any better than the Jussen brothers.

Sat with my mouth open throughout. This has to be one of mankind's greatest achievements, brilliantly conceived and written, fabulously performed. Beats the orchestral version because of the immediacy and tightness, played with passion. There is no better, more beautiful than the finest waterfall in Iceland.

I had the privilege of hearing Lucas & Arthur Jussen perform Sacre du Printemps live last night at the Klavierfestival Ruhr in Mühlheim an der Ruhr. They played on two pianos this time, and it was an unforgettable musical experience! I've conducted Sacre many times in Berlin and Düsseldorf, and I almost prefer the clarity of the version for two pianos, especially when played so brilliantly by these to exceptional artists. They played from memory, which is a super-human feat in itself. Their unbelievable energy, clarity and stunning technical virtuosity is absolutely amazing, in the real sense of the word. Thank you Lucas and Arthur for this truly unforgettable concert!

Beyond my comprehension. Just when you thought these guys were insanely good, they confirm it by taking it to the next level. The word astonishing comes to mind. Often.

I have love the Rite of Spring for 30 years...but this is the way I have always waited to hear it. Terrifying and magical. Utterly brilliant.

If only Stravinsky could have heard these springtime youths pound with all primal energy and synchrony he would have said- Yes this is what I meant!!

It is shocking that these two young men, who I have only seen perform Mozart, know this work by memory.

First of all a phenomenal feat of memory!! Almost none of this music lies comfortably beneath the fingers. Also a gripping performance. these two swept me along from the very first note. The variety of touch, the energy, the precision, the rhythmic incisiveness, all came together so convincingly. For me, this performance rates among the top few of the decade. Up there with Yuja Wang's Prokoviev Toccata and Malofeev's Rachmaninov concerti.. One stands in awe of such brilliance.

You cannot overstate this performance. Truly monumental.

Yet again I am completely stunned by the audacity of this opus magnum. It stands at the beginning of the 20th century like the mysterious monolith from Space Odyssey. 😮

Simply outstanding! I don't know what's more amazing -- that someone could imagine and compose this music, or that two people could actually memorize it and perform it in perfect unison on one instrument. Extraordinary!

Quel enchantement !

This really is hard work. Playing this all by heart and also together at the same time.
