I love my FitVille shoes, especially the winter selection Steve. Lovely tour, do you think that the cost of the straw bales is worth it to grow in? ♻️Happy gardening, Terry King.
Absolutely, Terry. At £4 each they are cheaper than bagged compost, plus I have a load of mulch and bed filling material for next year. I'll be doubling or tripling this in 2025.
@DigwellGreenfingers when you look at it that way it's a no brainer, a video on this subject would be good to share your thoughts once they have finished producing.
I find Scarpa hard to beat for quality footwear and Brasher, if you have achillies issues then a high drop heel is beneficial and Hooka and Brooks have a good selection if you need well padded heels.
Ahh he’s adorable 🥰. So not World Wide Wrestling then 😂😂. Apparently wheat grows well too in the wheat bales, I have the same in my straw mulch. My one and only tromboncino didn’t pollinate and fell off 😢 but I’m hoping there’s time. Are male ladybirds 🐞called man birds 😅. My tomatoes are the same no where near last years and we’ve had lots of sun 🤷♀️. Great shoes 👞, have a fab day, Ali ☔️🇨🇦
I think someone sold you a pup Steve? Gobstopper is a cherry that's not an Earl Edgecombe is it? The straw bales is a great method my old bosses dad used to grow his Toms in them in the greenhouse and he used the heat from them breaking down to germinate the seeds ... damn clever these old boys
Yes, something is wrong. Could be I twisted the bag through 180 when I relocated it from the front garden, but it doesnt look like a Michael Pollan either LOL Only time will tell!
Who are you calling "crazy Barry" 🤣 Great video Steve and all those Tomatoes as well, i didn't grow a single Tomato plant at all, hopefully next season. The "barrys crazy Tomato" one i grew that last year or the year before and they are a nice cherry size yellow Tomato and they taste very nice, i will have to grow them again. Have a good week mate. Barry (Wirral)
I was thinking of you when i said that LOL Looking forward to tasting these, along with the other ones that are new to me this season. Have a great weekend buddy!
The bales of produce are looking great. Yes poor toms here to but I’m still a novice. What did you mean by a rough cut when taking the shoots of them? Think I must of missed that video. Great shoes, so important to have both comfort and support while gardening. I use walking boots as I do have issues with my tendons, which means I currently only have a tan on the middle third of my legs 😂 #imin
Cool! Have a look here for the "roughing up a cut": ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-J379FuENOW8.html I know how you look, my arms are the same LOL Hope this helps
@@DigwellGreenfingers There are larger bales called mini Hestons and they are roughly twice the length and height but moving them is little harder, when I grew potatoes in straw I left them too long till October and the slugs had a feast so I'd Sprinkle slug pellets on them to keep them off your tatties.
@@ibrstellar1080 Ahh, wondered what they were called! I made a contact at the Berkeley Show about supplying the bales next year. Yep, using slug pellets weekly!
Straw bales are looking great. I am convinced sketchers ruined my feet as my foot has a tendency to roll and their foam under my feet just made it worse. I have moved to Altra shoes which are zero drop and wide toe area and my knees and feet are thanking me. Good luck to all entering the draw 😊
It was the same with Nike Air 30 years ago. I think they were just too soft for me but I didn't realise until I bought a pair of Skechers in the USA. It was a WOW moment for me, walking felt "normal" again but I didn't know it was "not normal" before LOL
My tomatoes are a write off for this year with just one plant left that hasn't got wiped out with blight and the first time all 3 indoors growing spaces got blight so soon.
Hi Steve the straw bales seem to be a success, who'd of thought. Can you use them again next year or will you compost them? I bet if you could use them again they would be even better. 👌👍😁💪🙏
Not sure yet Nick. I'm pretty sure the one with the spuds in will be semi-destroyed when I lift them, but not to worry, I have 6 new raised beds to fill on the new plot 🙂
@@DigwellGreenfingers that'll be a good base in the raised beds. A customer gave me their rabbit poop and bedding today so I'll make good use of that in my compost bin.👍👌🙏💪
@@nickthegardener.1120 Rabbit and guinea pig poo is good as it is a cold compost and can be used directly on the beds without a rotting down period. My runner beans grew in guinea pig bedding a few years ago!
Cool. I've toyed with trying this for a while (something new to do) then a lovely couple in New Zealand, Nicola & Michael, pushed me over the edge when they sponsored me to buy some bales - as well as providing loads of useful info on their own experiences. Safe to say, it works and I love it! I've put the straw bale videos in their own playlist to make things easier to follow: ru-vid.com/group/PLpg1LhQB0LMA22c58b8D5HpjTwXKKhCc6 Have a great weekend!
