I always thought Lambert should have done most of their vocals. Cousins wrote a lot of good stuff but his vocals weren't that great. I've met all of the Strawbs on more than one occasion and they are super humble and kind.

@@VEGTheAgingHippie Agree to some degree . That high harmony he does in “Heartbreaker” is awesome. I wish he would have done more of that type of singing . His voice is perfect for some songs and Lamberts on others .

Andy Richards - a fine keyboard player! I saw this lineup at The Venue in Victoria in 1980; my second-favourite Strawbs gig! My favourite being at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, on 3rd October 1976.

A lot of people listening to these Strawbs tracks don’t realise that Dave Lambert sings many lead parts. They think it is all Dave Cousins singing in different keys.

They do not make nor produce music like this anymore. What a creative and original band. Mixing folk with symphonic this was and is one of the best and most original progressive rock bands of the classic period. On top of this Dave Cousins and Dave Lambert trade wonderful vocals and meaningful lyrics. The instruments are beautiful. All analog including the beautiful progressive keyboards. The acoustic guitar mixed with electric and the violin makes for a beautiful classic symphonic sound. Rick Wakeman was actually a member early on.

Their arrangements always knocked me out. This '78 band picks up from Coombs and Hawkins without missing a beat. I hope the remainder of the performance is posted. This is obviously from the Burning for You lp follow up.

I would not say that Strawbs were one of the GREAT Prog/Folk bands live - judging from this performance. I've seen GENESIS live (Trick of the Tail tour) - and they were totally professional, and Awesome (Bruford was tour drummer)! And I've seen YES 3 times, and they were just Otherwordly!

I prefer John Hawken on keyboards for this. Andy Richard butchered it.
